[ The golden chest at the end of the dungeon looked promising and yet... rng gods aren't on their side today.

Or rather, they aren't on Joonghyuk's side.

At least it wasn't a complete waste of time, considering the new weapon and a piece of armor. He tries to ignore the fact that maid skin is right there in his inventory, but on the other hand... what if it gives some kind of a buff?

Two wolves are fighting inside of him, but the gamer wolf wins in the end. Too bad that Joonghyuk equips the skin by accident. Well, at least maybe there's no one here anymore—that's when his gaze locks on Brambles. ]

Good job in the dungeon.

[ It was a good dungeon run! They found a replacement for the yaoi paddle and Brambles found a better weapon for himself, too. The chipper little Englishman is very pleased that they accomplished these goals that he intended to fulfil at their first meeting. Seems they even got some armour skins, too?

And then SUDDENLY, PUNISHER IS WEARING THE SKIN ]

...?!

[ A surprised squeak travels from his mouth. He's trying REALLY hard not to laugh irl - oh, fuck. ]

That's what the skin looks like?! [ Yeah, that'll do. His voice is so pitched as he's trying to be normal (and failing.) ]

[ He's heard that squeak!! Don't you think he didn't!!! ]

I'm going back to the dungeon.

[ Expect he's not, the portal is long gone. But he wants to bury himself in a hole. ]

[ Getting wings wasn't on Joonghyuk's Y2K bingo card, but when life gives you wings, you use them to test the game in beta you're currently playing. The wings that grew on his back are white angel wings which isn't the most ideal because of his aversion to the color, but old yaoi men cannot be choosers. ]

I have an idea. Follow me.

[ That's all Kara gets before he starts flying upwards while looking down to check if she's going too. ]

Ohh? Do you, now.

[ She meets Joonghyuk's stoic expression with a pleasant smile, before she also starts to fly upwards, tailing along behind him. Flight is so strange but so much fun, and as she goes upwards, she tries to speed up a little to fly beside him rather than behind. ]

They're either some kind of an invisible wall above or... we can glitch the game.

Instead, Joonghyuk falls from the sky, white feathers scattering in the air on impact with the ground (and possibly Owen unless he'd rather watch from a safe distance). ]

[Thank god Joonghyuk is built like a brick, because it means Owen sees him coming. He is, admittedly, a bit bewildered by what he sees - he's not expecting to see a man with wings falling out of the sky? - but he catches on in time to take a few steps back.

And of course it's the Yaoi Punisher himself...]

[ If only this city had PvP enabled, alas. Joonghyuk glares at him after gathering himself from the ground and patting his clothes to get the dust off them. ]

[ Joonghyuk spawns in Lumina Cloth just a couple of minutes after his last message to Mithrun. He took the liberty to check his profile and confirm his appearance because he assumes that he's not running around with Yaoi Oar anymore (probably). Thankfully, it's not that difficult to find him in the crowd. ]

[ That one word greeting is supposed to convey the I'm glad someone sane messaged me for once feeling. ]

( Mithrun's there and ready, all geared up and, frankly, just as content to do some mindless combat stuff for once. He very much would like to be good at his class, and, though he doesn't know much about this guy, the sentiment seems similar enough. He approves of it.

Mithrun unsheathes his claymore, intricate inscriptions etched into the fuller of his broad blade. )

Do you want to go to 10% HP, or to the death?

( The question is genuine. He's content with whichever metric Joonghyuk prefers. )

[ He puts Edge into Edge Punisher or so he believes. But for real, it would be a shame if they lowered their health to a critical state and someone else walked in and killed them both. With PvP enabled... anything can happen. ]

Special gear? Looks very high-level.

[ He can appreciate a good weapon and he's grateful that this isn't a Yaoi Oar fight to the death. His weapon of choice is a claymore with glowing RGB edges. It's now glowing orange because while his expression might not indicate that, he is very excited about this. ]

This dungeon is almost as gross as you are.

[ If it wasn't filled with monsters to the brim, he'd probably just leave Owen somewhere. Unfortunately, fair play is a thing. Treasure chests are waiting around every corner which is a very promising sign considering the fact that there should be a treasure chest at the end of this dungeon. They're fairly close to reaching the end, but there are still some monsters in their way. ]

Let's get this done quick.

[ Grunty Ranch NPCs are quite helpful when it comes to giving tips about raising a Grunty into an adult. The information is very comprehensive as well—the level of detail allows Joonghyuk to make a list of every single Grunty Food, what does it look like, where it can be found, and what kind of an effect it has. He even tried to sketch Cordyceps, but quickly gave up especially since his baby Grunty demanded attention. ]

I'm not sure how to feel about the idea of food shaping them so much, but nothing can be done about that. [ He offers his notes to Uta. ] Where do you want to go?

[ trust this man to want to minmax the whole grunty raising prospects but at the same time that's extremely fair of him to want to. as a gamer she understands even if this is a lot of effort for little rewards? kind of?

honestly the drawings are extremely cute. ]

There's an English saying of "you are what you eat", isn't there? I'm sure the developers had some fun with that.

[ she'll have a bit of a laugh as she looks over the options and judges things. ]

But I'm not too sure. I kind of want to have things be a bit of a surprise, however I also don't want to raise my grunty to have poor stats. [ ultimately there is really only one choice: ] How about we go look for "Oh No Melons"?

[ News at 11, Punisher is self-aware. There's a ghost of a smile playing at his lips, even if it turns into a neutral expression just after a few moments. ]

Well, you can always let your grunty choose. [ Another peek at the notes. ] "Oh No Melons"? Why these?

[ While Joonghyuk would rather avoid the crowds if possible, the carnival is an event worth checking out only if for the prizes. Which are... something. If the skins at least had some buffs, alas. Still, he's a bit curious about what else the developers came up with in terms of carnival games, so he decides to give it a shot and wanders around to check out some stalls.

After some time, he finds giant kick darts and stands a few steps away to examine a inflatable dart board. ]

Interesting mini-game. A combination of the two popular games should lead to promising results.

[ Nothing like murmuring to himself when people are around. While he could hog it and play by himself, playing with someone grants both players a random snack from the carnival stalls. The promise of a consumable item might not entice many, but Joonghyuk is rather resourceful—it turns out to be more than enough to hit up a stranger.

Well, technically a stranger. In his opinion, meeting someone in a giant player katamari doesn't count. ]

[ Rather than going inside with a friend, Joonghyuk goes alone because that's what friendless Punishers do. If he knew that Owen was around, he'd never step inside—noticing him in the mirror is worse than seeing the worst nightmare for some reason. ]

What are you doing here? Are you following me?

[ Who's obsessed now... not that Owen might have gotten here first. ]

What the fuck—

[ After his cordial greeting with Owen, the mirror's reflection doesn't show the other player anymore—much to Joonghyuk's dismay, he can see himself holding a golden trophy above his head. The words that are engraved on it can be read fairly easily.

Joonghyuk tries to cover it with his hand, but he might be a few seconds too late. ]

[ It was supposed to be a solo run, until another player invited themselves to this dungeon run just a few seconds before they both get teleported to a grassy meadow. Joonghyuk didn't even get to see who's coming with him, so as soon as he gets the chance, his eyes dart to the other player. ]

What do you think you're doing!?

[ He accepted on accident thinking it's the teleport confirmation message, oops. ]

[ Does a guy really have to brigng three other people if he wants to solo run now? He knows better than to ask that question, though—it would invite her to give an answer and it would be probably even worse than that excuse. ]
