Ummm ... it kind of has a threatening vibe? Which ... I guess is good for a video game! Having a name like, "Fluffy_Unicorn_Kitty" might make you a target. But "Punisher" is like ... "Ooh, he's gonna punish me!" You know?

Wha, really? [ he glances around. ] It would definitely be easy to make a simple arrangement with these flowers! I just don't know if video game flowers work the same as real life ones. [ come sit with him, punisher!! ]

[ Not that "Punisher" isn't. He's very deadly!! And now his deadly ass plops next to Brambles because he's going to learn something about flowers now. ]

[ and Brambles can't believe he's actually interested in learning more!! he's so happy, he can't stop smiling! ]

Mhm! It's not hard to guess I'm a bit of a nerd and I've practically memorised every flower meaning. Do you have a favourite flower you're curious to know about?

I like sunflowers.

[ Even edgy people have favorite flowers. ]

Sunflowers are so beautiful ... you have amazing taste.

[ Maybe he's just read on sunflowers recently... it's test time. That's easier than reacting to that compliment. ]

[ Is he going to yell the name of any flower that will come to his mind? Yes. ]

Now this one changes by location! In China, “prosperity and honour.” In Japan, “masculinity and bravery.” Globally it can symbolise “shame, bashfulness and anger.”

[ What are the odds of finding a flower that lowkey describes him as a person? Not that Joonghyuk thinks about such things. ]

[ He could keep yelling, but there's no point—Brambles most likely knows the meanings of all flowers he knows. ]

Just make sure that your flower arrangements don't contain flower-shaped monsters.

Most MMOs have them. The ones that look like flowers are usually low level, though.

[ It would be a shame if few twinkle grasses appeared now... Joonghyuk looks at a nearby patch of flowers with teeth and gently pokes Brambles. ]

[ They're not aggro but Joonghyuk is, so he smacks them with his boardsword a few times. ]

Oh...!

[ he felt that poke for real- BUT ALSO, OH. FLOWERS. HE CLUTCHES HIS CHEST. ]

Those poor little guys ...

They're monsters.

[ Says Joonghyuk, slashing their little bodies with his broadsword. ]

If they attack you, it's going to hurt.

Really?!

[ he scrambles to his feet! ]

Like, my HP? Or actual pain in real life-? Kind of like how I could feel the effects of the alcohol earlier ...

Both. But you can turn the pain sensor off if you haven't already.

[ Joonghyuk's still fighting from the ground because it's easier to aim at the small mobs that way. At least a few smacks later he's done. ]

[ WHOOPS! too late - Brambles yelps in pain as one of these flower creatures bites him on the back of his leg while he wasn't looking! ]

Agh! Fuck-! [ He's not usually one to curse but DAMN, that hurt!! ]

[regressive]

[ That FUCK makes Joonghyuk's eyes dart right to Brambles, then to his ankles and finally the monster. Instead of using a normal attack, Joonghyuk uses a skill and slashes the flower apart with one swing. ]

Sorry, I didn't notice that one. Are you okay?

[ The downsides of being level one and new to the game. ]

Ah! Whew!

[ sweet relief once the flower is shredded off his back leg! Bramb strokes his leg after. ]

It's okay! Thank you ... I shouldn't have been so careless! And I need to turn that thing off ...

Check your character profile and go to settings from here. You can turn it off in the general tab. [ Before Brambles asks, Joonghyuk murmurs: ] I've been messing around with these settings, that's all.

That's intuitive! Can't believe I didn't try that ...

[ but he is a noob! he has an excuse. anyway, he takes a quick moment to fiddle with his settings as more of those weird flowers approach him while he's distracted. ]

[ This is where Joonghyuk steps in to make sure that Brambles doesn't get hurt. The flowers are really targeting him as if they sensed he's a florist or something. ]

Well, the pain sensor is just vibrations... but the pain can get annoying. [ A beat. ] Wait, but that means... you were fighting in the dungeon with it turned on.

[ For all he knows, maybe Brambles enjoys some vibrations... ]

[ he chuckles actually, ]

Haha! Whoops. Come to think of it ... I think I was more surprised than hurt when that flower bit my leg. What a drama queen I am. It's a good thing I turned it off.

[ he casts a weak spell with his staff that sends an approaching flower hurling backwards. after two more hits of magic, it dies. ]

I feel like this is the opposite of floristry. Unless I pretend they're weeds.

Yeah, there's literally no point in being in pain because of a game.

[ Listen, he might be a gamer, but he's reasonable. ]

Whatever works for you. I mean they're preventing us from you showing me some flower arrangements, so they're clearly enemies.
