[ Over the last weeks, we have had Tylor, Nanashi, Miharu, Albedo, and Deto join us. Welcome! Feel free to assume Haru's shown them around. The guild is yours to make home now. Masked Grunty will try to take newbies under his wing (nevermind that everyone is pretty much level 100, it's in his programming) and is still reminding everyone to get sleep.
Now onto the guild huddle. Haru looks exhausted despite sleeping the morning away, but once she's up she goes about checking in with everyone. In the afternoon, a meeting is called in the guild's secret base. There is coffee (or tea if that's your preference) and snacks, and couches pushed in a circle to lounge on. At the center, we have our conspiracy board. Haru will start the meeting by recounting the battle for members not present. ]
...and that's what happened. There will be more Waves coming, but we have some idea of what we're facing now. The good news is if we stop them, we can save everyone affected.
[Sinclair's eyes are trained on the board, lingering on Hien's comments. Oria was right. Not everything Hien said was necessarily true, but much of what he said had weight.
But at the back of his mind, he wonders: would it truly be that easy? Both Mithrun and Barrett had an intense desire to live.
What if you didn't?]
...we need to defeat all the phases in order to return. Lily...Cubia is getting stronger. He's shown himself to us now. We need to prepare ourselves for further change. There's a chance that the phases themselves will have a stronger hold over the people they've infected too.
I think we should take advantage of what he can’t understand. What, uh, Mithrun1 and Tarvos understood of things were ridiculously limited. Like they couldn’t understand past Lily’s programming or whatever it was. That means Lily himself is limited.
[ though how they’d used that? who knows, don’t ask him. hey, this tea is pretty bomb, thanks noir ]
[ If there's still a couch in here, Tylor has probably plopped himself here. He usually has food to share, but today he is stuck with nothing better to do than pay attention. A silver lining, thin and wispy. ]
But we're stronger now too. And we know more about how it works this time, don't we? If they really can't stop it when it happens, then we'll have to fight them too. All we have to do is get them low enough, then maybe they'll listen.
[ Said like it's the simplest thing in the world, not a worry to be found. His voice drifts off at the next questions, arms crossing only to bring his hand to his chin. ]
We'll just have to remind them how much they matter, so shouldn't the people closest to them be in those fights? Well, only if they want to be. This kind of thing can be pretty rough, you know?
[And of course, Sinclair is by Tylor's side with a steady supply of healing food to keep that HP bar from ticking down too far with that leg]
...I don't think most of us could turn away from them, even if we wanted to. [Sinclair thinks of his grim determination against Macha and of Michel's words to him in his letter...
What was it about him that Michel thought he was capable of this?]
[ While Em responds, Tylor chomps on whatever food he's been most recently handed to him. Swallowing just in time, he nods and agrees-- ]
Oh, I agree. But we shouldn't force anyone.
[ He says it lightly, looking to Em. While Tylor hasn't said it directly to anyone, they both know there is at least one confrontation nobody will be able to stop Tylor from attending, no matter what condition he might be in.
Tylor reaches over to pat Em anyway, smiling.
Maybe it's becoming increasingly obvious how much is forgotten. Replaced. The undercurrent is all still so painfully him, without worry. Despite everything. Wearing his armor helps, and seeing everyone so down only propels him higher, steadier. Living in his role. ]
Being a part of this guild means none of us are alone though, even them. There'll always be one of us to face them. You're all so smart too, I'm just grateful to be here.
The problem wasn’t the healing timing, but that we weren’t coordinated as a group. Buffs weren’t always timed right, big hits were missed. If healing were an issue, we’d be straight up dead.
Though I get that no one expected a fight right then and there.
It's true. We don't know when things are going to start again. I don't think we can count of the patch cycle for timekeeping anymore.
How many of us have slept properly since that fight? You've probably got more energy than all of us combined. [She certainly doesn't appear to be getting a full night's rest anymore, though she's at least better rested than some of them here.]

I'll try to help with them as much as I can.

You were a great help in battle, Nanashi.

I'll have to figure something out when I hit level 100, though.

[ So how to use that is...hm.]
We can try denying them what they're researching but it doesn't seem like Corbenik is active anywhere. Does that mean she's collected enough already?

It truly does sound like it was a difficult battle. We should ensure that we all rest properly when necessary, given our physical limitations.
[ Is Albedo calling out some people? Maybe. ]

If they want to stay here – if there's anything left of this world by then – we should respect that.
