So… not to dampen things, but I’m just gonna offer another perspective on this, just in case. But what if they don’t want to be saved?

Can only save people who wanna be saved. And if they don’t, then you’re forcing your version of salvation onto them. Which is, uh, what I hear Lily is doing to us, so.

Yes, I suppose it is fully within someone's rights to assume that is the case. If they so wish it, after we have dealt with them properly, and ensured that they are no longer a threat to our livelihood, whoever thinks that way can choose what path they wish to take with their own hands.

Therefore, I hardly consider this much of an issue for any single one of us. But, it is an intriguing topic to have been brought up.

Even if they don't, I think that's a choice they deserve to make when they can think for themselves.

We know that Uta's death was reported in the newsletter we all received. What exactly are we supposed to offer her?

A chance to find out the truth, maybe. Lily is manipulating our memories, and well... How do we know the newsletter wasn't something written by Lily?

That's what I'm thinking. We haven't gotten one in a while, have we? I wonder if anyone ever tried reaching out to the publisher.

There aren't many. Maybe if we go over them, there's something else there. It's a little like looking for scraps, but if Cubia can use anything within the world of the game against us, we should make sure to do the same.

Yeah, I haven’t read all of them myself so that’s a good point. I’ll look and see if anything sticks out to me. You do the same?

... it's interesting isn't it? We really have no idea what's real or not. But we can't convince Uta to break free of Corbenik through "what ifs".

You don’t think it’s too late to convince her to break free at this point? Plus we’re always gonna be at a disadvantage because we’re supposedly more and more of ourselves.

But... it's not like I can actually stop anyone from killing themselves, or staying here.

As long as what you say is true, you can hope it reaches them. [She looks to Emil, giving him the smallest of smiles. She is not a touchy feely or particularly comforting person, which will become even more apparent by the way she touches his shoulder briefly before dropping her hand awkwardly back into her lap.]

Based on the information we have, I think I might cause problems if I get involved with Corbenik. I'm going to focus on Gorre for now.

It isn't about power.

The final choice is always in that person's hands. [She smiles a little.] But you'll never stop reaching out to them, whether they choose to take your hand or not. I think that's strong.

I agree. It's not something Lily should decide for them. I'm certain Uta would want to have the agency to make that choice for herself.

If they want to stay here – if there's anything left of this world by then – we should respect that.
