As long as what you say is true, you can hope it reaches them. [She looks to Emil, giving him the smallest of smiles. She is not a touchy feely or particularly comforting person, which will become even more apparent by the way she touches his shoulder briefly before dropping her hand awkwardly back into her lap.]
Based on the information we have, I think I might cause problems if I get involved with Corbenik. I'm going to focus on Gorre for now.
[ He smiles at her , touched by the gesture. He looks around the room, taking faith in everyone's unwavering confidence]
I'll focus on Gorre too. We should come up with a plan of attack. We only have two healers. There's no guarantee the phases won't target them aggressively. I'll keep to my Heal core for the battles ahead to make sure any healers are supported.
[She nods.] If I change out my armor, chances are I'll lose the ability to recover health as well. I'll keep the healing core on hand or bring defense. Mitigation is mitigation.
You said he might not let you into his tower. That would be a good sign, actually. It means you have nothing to give him or something to use against him. Should someone go?
[Is it unwavering confidence, Sinclair, or has the possibility of death simply fixed itself here, like having breakfast or remembering the house keys?]
[Sinclair, who has a feeling death has followed him ever since the end of high school, wouldn't be able to tell the difference.]
...it would be good to see how much of Michel remains while Gorre is there. But I'm worried...he did hurt me critically. I think people should take precautions.
He may have done that to you because he knew it would be cruel. To you, specifically.
[They can't assume that and charge forward heedlessly, but she thinks it's worth pointing out.]
Or consider the opposite: that he didn't want to be cruel to you.
I think it would be a little different for the rest of us. [Different now, regardless, that he's hidden away, but he will probably remember almost everything he does, if he can be compared to the others. Maybe it should be someone who won't stoke that fire of regret.]
[Miharu nods. She's not optimistic enough to truly believe that it was only Michel, screaming out for one last moment of control, who tried to stop Emil from coming to the battle with Macha and Tarvos, but she remembers how he still hoped to protect who he can. It would be...reasonable, to think he could have used the limitations of the phase consuming him to do what he could, while he could.]
I think so. Once everything is data to him, no matter the context...that's like the chrysalis, isn't it?
[It's an ugly thought, but that seems to be when the last bit of what's really them melts away.]
Yeah. I think...stabbing me was the trigger point, to allow Gorre to take control. Mithrun said that each program--each phase, had programming that was essentially illogical because the core was human. So any data processed would just be adjusted until it made sense.
[That's the gist of it, he thinks. It had been mostly Gorre there. But maybe beneath it all, there was a glimmer of Michel waiting]</small.

...We can tell them they matter. That we love them. But unless they're ready to listen...

[ SPAWN CAMPERS...THAT'S THEM. ]
I'll make it to Gorre if I'm able to assist.
We'll get through to both of them. I believe it.

Be careful. Don't forget the warnings you've received.

[ At Miharu's warning, Memoir simply nods. ]
Thank you, Miharu. I'll be as careful as I can be.

[It would fit in with both Michel and Gorre, if a justification needed to be reached...
His head hurts]
I think, from what everyone said, Macha and Tarvos both took over completely before they transformed. It might be the case for him too.

[ He squeezes his hands together ]
They have to make that final step themselves.
