It's true. We don't know when things are going to start again. I don't think we can count of the patch cycle for timekeeping anymore.

How many of us have slept properly since that fight? You've probably got more energy than all of us combined. [She certainly doesn't appear to be getting a full night's rest anymore, though she's at least better rested than some of them here.]

[ Albedo gives a nod in Miharu's direction to give his agreement.

Then, he asks while she has presented her inquiry to the rest: ]

...Have you managed to catch adequate rest yourself?

More than I have in the past, trust me.

You stayed behing. Did anything strange happen out here while we were in the Area? [She imagines it was probably self-contained, but what if they all missed something because they were focused on the Wave?]

My apologies...I did not witness anything odd anywhere else while you all were battling.

[ There is a pause, however. ]

But, I did visit the head administrator's personal quarters a bit before the fight and saw something curious. His usual chambers had a certain appearance that changed the second time I made a visit.

[Well, that still seems pretty notable, and the sort of thing she's surprised he hasn't volunteered yet.]

So you went there twice before we fought Macha and Tarvos. What do you mean by "certain?"

Before, it was a place that seemed hardly notable, except filled with holes in various spots, and a chair for the person who committed an offense to sit in.

[ lmfao ]

On the second time, there was a marked, yet fascinating change.

[ Albedo states as if in awe. So, as he keeps speaking, he sounds a little excited! Like a researcher who is getting too deep into telling the results of an experiment. This is fine. ]

Patches have fallen off of the walls to reveal places of static, and these patches are unfortunately quite high up. So, therefore impossible for anyone to try to crawl through. The holes I saw from last time have become deeper craters. In addition, I have been witness to an odd eye that makes its appearance through these holes in the static, as if, of course...watching. It is a black color, yet appear to be rather realistic, as if like a real eye.

While I was speaking with Hien, he also let me know that there is one place where Lily can't reach.

Admin Hien has been losing pieces of himself due to Lily, so maybe the change has to do with that.

[ But more importantly... ]

Did he say what that place is?

Yes, he has...

[ ... ]

...Unfortunately, no. He stated that only Lily knew, which of course may or may not be true. But, once he began to tell me about somewhere I didn't have access to, the room we were in began to shake, as if giving a warning.

Oh, and his head wound began to bleed excessively. The one eye in the room became many and glared down at my person. So, if anyone had any doubts he is a Wave, they may as well leave those behind now.

[ Not that he thinks it warrants saying, but clearly Hien's change has...more or less. Progressed. ]

[ Her next question was going to be about how Hien was doing, but he'd answered that for her. She had been holding onto hope, but now the harsh reality sinks in. ]

Lily must be interfering, stopping Admin Hien from helping us. He would hate what's happening if he were still himself. We have to free him.

[alchemicalbirth]

That must be exactly the case; there is no doubt that he dislikes being under Lily's control in any way.

[ Albedo states firmly. So, it appears that he is in agreement.

However, he does add food for thought: ]

Though, I imagine fighting against him may be potentially tougher than the most recent one. Of course, I have heard that it was difficult for a myriad reasons. But, the previous Waves thus far didn't have healing capabilities, as far as I know.

That may not be the case with him. Not that he might necessary have it in his Wave form, but we should consider the possibility, and prepare ourselves accordingly.

[ He has nothing to add here. He's just here to look pretty...pretty upset, anyway. ]

[ That's fair. Sometimes there's little to say, but...he does toss a glance in his general direction regardless. ]

Lily can't reach him there...but the place is still bound to Hien's mental state. That it's degraded that far...

There's a lot to unpack there, so as much as she wishes he'd not get so caught up winding his explanation down rabbit holes, Miharu also has to appreciate the time she's getting to keep up with everything. His description of the room only grows more unsettling, and she grips her shoulder tightly in thought.]

Maybe we should ask you to do a sketch for the board later. I wonder if someone with flight could reach those areas.

[ Exactly like a timeout chair. Albedo may have a habit of doing things he shouldn't do. Wehe. ]

I would be more than happy to sketch it for everyone. I remember everything clearly and I am certain to be able to provide everyone quite a rather useful visual reference.

[ Plus, Albedo's an artist. The right person seems to have witness this change. ]

It's entirely possible that they could, yes. Though, I imagine that is where the majority of his Wave form is. Or, that is at least my running theory on the matter.

[What the hell is he doing that lands him in the head admin's quarters so often? She feels like she's about to start sweating just thinking about something like that...]

Ah. I see. I wonder how much information he's given us we should be careful not to take as gospel.

[Any feelings she might be having are kept carefully at bay - at least the best she can.]

I don't know if it's related, but... Hien seemed really preoccupied with death the last time I talked to him. It kind of reminded me of the way Misteaks and Mithrun were talking as Tarvos and Macha...

Is it possible he's the terror of death...? Or is it just because he's losing himself...?

Don't ask him if he's dead. He does not like that. He warned me that I could have ended up like him though, since I nearly died. Hence the... stupid question.

[ Fuurin with the dunce hat here. ]

But his connection to death may have made that a sensitive subject.

...his memories are being erased on a level worse than ours. [ He frowns, thinking] He's angry at Cubia, but resigned too. All of his happy memories disappeared first, then his unhappy ones. Now he's forgetting parts of Fragment too, I think.

[A pause ]

'Death'...I remember seeing coffins in his space before...but more importantly, what does the first phase of the poem say again?

He brought up death to me, too. Saying things like people would forget the dead quickly. He seemed resigned to his fate.

[ Looking at the board and that 'shadow of death' line. ]

I didn't get the sense that he was trying to collect emotions from me, but it's too much of a coincidence.

Maybe he's trying to collect data on reactions to someone who's dying?

[ Sinclair wisely does not mention his fighting sessions with Hien and the things discussed within them.

He's pretty sure Hien is just being Hien here.]

...I believe you may be correct that he could be the 'terror of death'.

It would be apt, wouldn't it? For a powerful healer to adopt such a role. Lily would likely enjoy such a contradiction.

[ Pause as he realizes he is responding to a healer in question. How funny. ]

Present company excluded, of course.
