...I did make changes to my avatar's appearance. My hair isn't this short. I thought that might prevent me from being recognized, but...

[He's missed loafing around in "nature" like this, and while they're currently luxurating under a false sun and artificial grass, it feels so much like the real thing that Yael can't help sliding into the greenery and resting on his back, dappled sunlight dancing over his closed eyes.]

I'm currently stationed in the bay area. I don't know when I'll be leaving, considering my injury.

[ Fai shifts so he can look down at Yael. It feels… a little too real, like they’re on some picnic in the middle of nowhere rather than two hundred feet from a dungeon in a video game. ]

[ So they live close. Hm. He doesn’t know how to deal with that information. ]

For some reason, I thought you lived anywhere else.

[...It's kind of funny, actually, hearing Fai react the way he does. Yael felt the same way after learning that this guy really doesn't live that far from him. Still, rather than letting the awkward silence drag on more than a few perilous moments, Yael cuts in with a quip.]

[He's not letting you forget what you said yesterday, Fai.]

[ That’s precisely why he doesn’t know what to do with it. ]

[Ah... but yesterday is beginning to feel more and more like some fever dream, so it might be for the best to forget that conversation ever happened. Stretching out in the grass, Yael rolls onto his side.]

[ Fai sits forward, pillowing his cheek in his hand while he other picks at the grass. He can’t actually pull any of it up, but he can certainly feel it. ]
