[ Fai shifts so he can look down at Yael. It feels… a little too real, like they’re on some picnic in the middle of nowhere rather than two hundred feet from a dungeon in a video game. ]

[ So they live close. Hm. He doesn’t know how to deal with that information. ]

For some reason, I thought you lived anywhere else.

[...It's kind of funny, actually, hearing Fai react the way he does. Yael felt the same way after learning that this guy really doesn't live that far from him. Still, rather than letting the awkward silence drag on more than a few perilous moments, Yael cuts in with a quip.]

[He's not letting you forget what you said yesterday, Fai.]

[ That’s precisely why he doesn’t know what to do with it. ]

[Ah... but yesterday is beginning to feel more and more like some fever dream, so it might be for the best to forget that conversation ever happened. Stretching out in the grass, Yael rolls onto his side.]

[ Fai sits forward, pillowing his cheek in his hand while he other picks at the grass. He can’t actually pull any of it up, but he can certainly feel it. ]

[Yael snorts— how honest should he be...? The answer, as always, is very.]

[ He should’ve known that would be Yael’s answer, and it makes Fai laugh. ]

Hmm. I’ll accept it.

[ But Yael isn’t getting off scot-free for that smug look, as Fai leans forward to pinch his nose. ]

[Hey! He had his eyes closed!! Yael swats the offending hand away and rolls back onto, well, his back to squint up at Fai.]

[ Fai glares down at Yael as he practically looms over him. ]

[So sullen... but Fai really is cute when he's honest. Yael reaches up and pinches Fai's nose right back.]

I can't help it. I've always liked napping in the grass, but I guess a bookworm like you wouldn't know how nice it is.

[ His face scrunches up. Wow, it’s weird feeling someone’s fingers on his nose when they’re not really there. This isn’t something he’ll ever get over, he thinks. ]

I can only sleep in a bed… or on a couch.

[Idly, he wonders how well Fai would fare on a motorcycle.]

[ He tilts his head, a mischievous look in his eyes. ]

Not even close. I knew early on a guy like you wouldn't be any good to go camping with. I bet you'd throw a fit of a bug crawled in your hair.

[Does Fai really have long hair in real life? Yael can hardly imagine it, reaching up to toy with the feathery blond ends. Just how long is it?]

[ Oh. He’s a little bit surprised when Yael reaches up to touch his hair, but the only real evidence of his surprise is the very slight widening of his eyes for a brief moment. ]

Hmmm. Maybe, maybe not.

I think I could manage, though. Teach me how to set things up and I’ll be fine.

[Before letting go of Fai's hair, he yanks it for good measure.]

[ Of course Yael pulls on his hair. He really is like a kid on a playground… ]

[ He shrugs before reaching behind him to pay Yael’s knee. ]

Fai’s beginning to see a pattern here with Yael’s terrible sense of humor, so he simply shakes his head and pulls away to lay back on the grass himself. ]

[Still, he isn't offended. When Fai flops back into the grass beside him, Yael sits up on an elbow to get a better look at his face.]

[ He eyes Yael as he spreads out his limbs to essentially starfish pose in the grass. It feels refreshing, and makes the weird nervousness he feels at being described to a tee easier to bear. ]
