[ His face scrunches up. Wow, it’s weird feeling someone’s fingers on his nose when they’re not really there. This isn’t something he’ll ever get over, he thinks. ]

I can only sleep in a bed… or on a couch.

[Idly, he wonders how well Fai would fare on a motorcycle.]

[ Oh. He’s a little bit surprised when Yael reaches up to touch his hair, but the only real evidence of his surprise is the very slight widening of his eyes for a brief moment. ]

[Before letting go of Fai's hair, he yanks it for good measure.]

Fai’s beginning to see a pattern here with Yael’s terrible sense of humor, so he simply shakes his head and pulls away to lay back on the grass himself. ]

[Still, he isn't offended. When Fai flops back into the grass beside him, Yael sits up on an elbow to get a better look at his face.]

[ He eyes Yael as he spreads out his limbs to essentially starfish pose in the grass. It feels refreshing, and makes the weird nervousness he feels at being described to a tee easier to bear. ]

[And he already has, feeling his opportunity has come when Fai closes his eyes and leaves himself open to attack. Rather... this feels right, insomuch as it can, so Yael leans and presses their lips together.

Brief, fleeting, but it feels just like the real thing. He's trying his hardest to ignore the flood of emotion that follows, all the sensation, falling silent in the wake of it. It's been so, so long, and he isn't sure he's ready to go back.]

[ His eyes flutter open at the sensation as a soft gasp escapes him. His hand flies up to his mouth as his brows furrow. ]

[ It feels… real.

The food, the drinks, even battle all felt real, but it takes this for it to fully sink in for Fai. What does it mean, if his own lips in real life tingle with the gentle pressure of Yael’s lips pressed against them a few moments ago? ]

I… didn’t think it would feel so real.

[He'd forgotten the aftermath of a first kiss— how it tingles, every nerve in his body alight, anxiety humming through his veins. Fai's response isn't poor by any means, but ah. It's hard not to feel anxious. Impossible, really.

Yael moves back, enough to grant Fai some space, but not much farther. His hands are clammy...]

Don't be too surprised. Everything else in this game feels real too.

[ Fai sits up, feeling the urge to brush the grass out of his hair, even though there would reasonably be none stuck to it. ]

But it’s different than anything else so far.

[ He smiles, trying to figure out what Yael’s thinking. ]
