[And he already has, feeling his opportunity has come when Fai closes his eyes and leaves himself open to attack. Rather... this feels right, insomuch as it can, so Yael leans and presses their lips together.

Brief, fleeting, but it feels just like the real thing. He's trying his hardest to ignore the flood of emotion that follows, all the sensation, falling silent in the wake of it. It's been so, so long, and he isn't sure he's ready to go back.]

[ His eyes flutter open at the sensation as a soft gasp escapes him. His hand flies up to his mouth as his brows furrow. ]

[ It feels… real.

The food, the drinks, even battle all felt real, but it takes this for it to fully sink in for Fai. What does it mean, if his own lips in real life tingle with the gentle pressure of Yael’s lips pressed against them a few moments ago? ]

I… didn’t think it would feel so real.

[He'd forgotten the aftermath of a first kiss— how it tingles, every nerve in his body alight, anxiety humming through his veins. Fai's response isn't poor by any means, but ah. It's hard not to feel anxious. Impossible, really.

Yael moves back, enough to grant Fai some space, but not much farther. His hands are clammy...]

[ Fai sits up, feeling the urge to brush the grass out of his hair, even though there would reasonably be none stuck to it. ]

[ He smiles, trying to figure out what Yael’s thinking. ]

[Yael snorts, amused... but more than anything, he's relieved. Another, huh? So he didn't mind it after all. What a relief.]

[ Fai doesn’t mind it at all, though, which is clear when he leans in and presses their lips together again. It’s soft and chaste, but he lingers longer than Yael did. ]

[Bless Fai for going easy on him. His skin bristles with that second kiss, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. It really has been too long. More importantly, Fai's lips are a natural fit against his own.]

[ His breath fans out against Yael’s finger as he sighs. It’s incredibly tempting to close his eyes, but he just barely manages not to. ]
