[The time has come... for fun! Δ Haggard Traveler's Reprieve has been decorated with all the niceties that a beach party requires - docks for fishing, large umbrellas to hide from the sun, several tables with sets of chairs for sitting and conversing, and the most obvious addition: a massive roaring bonfire with a big cooking mesh over the top of it for barbecue cookin'!

Leo's wearing a fishing hat and aviators alongside his trademark loincloth-and-nothing-else getup for maximum dissonance. From his position on the other side of the bonfire, he waves a hand at those arriving.]

Welcome to the Beach Bash! Snacks and drinks are on the tables, bottles of sunscreen and crafting tables are under the umbrellas, and complementary fishing gear are at the docks for your convenience. Have fun, friends~

[Emperor Grunty is also here, should you wish to annoy him! He's currently laying in the sand with a reflector. What? Grunties need their sun too!]

[Oh cool, meeting the head admin! And not for horribly breaking the rules! That's good.]

Yeah, tables for sure! I'm thinking some big umbrellas for people to chill under if the sun is too much. Annnd if you can make slightly bigger alterations, docks for fishing. That way we can get people started on testing those gathering and crafting professions.

But he has terrible placement. This man can't decorate a place to save his life. All the umbrellas and docks are crammed side by side.

[ Oria is not in any form of swimsuit. He is in his default clothes with a long scarf—actually he'll take the scarf off. He's sitting on one of the tables, helping himself to some tasty barbecue that Leo cooked up. If anyone interrupts Leo from making the food of the gods, he's going to kill someone.

He has gone through 4 plates already.

This is also the wildcard option because I'm planning on tagging around anyway. ]

[ Surprise, Michel is here! Where the people are. Despite his mild human allergy. Unlike Oria, he is in swim trunks. He doesn't really have much interest in the barbeque, but he plunks into a seat across from Oria to just stare in fascination.

How many plates are you going to go through, Oria. ]

[ Oria goes through two more plates before finally regarding Michel with a raised eyebrow and then shoving a rib into his mouth if possible. Eat something?! Damn. ]

[ All he wanted was to hover here like a pale crow counting plates. How could Oria have betrayed him like this?? Operation rib stuff is successful and leaves Michel staring balefully at him, both hands raised to his mouth as he tries to figure out how not to choke or make a disgusting mess of it. ]

[ Hien is here, though he's mostly keeping to himself in his swimsuit and quietly eating. He wishes he could drink right now, but he's working... the sunglasses hide how tired his eyes look than usual.

This is his w/e TL to say that he exists here somewhere. Bother him if you want, but he's staying far from the party where the people congregate because he doesn't like... parties... he's here to chaperone. ]

[Levi isn't present the entire day due to having IRL plans (yes it's a surprise to him too), but he does spend some time at the party! He'd usually consider this too normie of an activity for him, but...unlike at the start of the beta, he doesn't require quite as much guilt-tripping to attend. He also has a summer skin (+ horns and tail) from the carnival, so he might as well use it...

He can be found in a few places:

1. Combing the beach for any fun crafting materials.
2. Practicing his crafting at one of the crafting tables set up.
3. Hiding from the sun under one of the umbrellas with some tasty BBQ in hand. He doesn't know if he can get sunburned here but he doesn't want to find out. Look at how pale he is.
4. Swimming in the ocean. He actually looks very happy and peaceful in the water. He even swims surprisingly fast. Who would have guessed?

[Ryuunosuke had been looking forward to a beach party, so he's pleased Leo made the party into reality. Summer is going to start winding down, so it seems like a nice little last hurrah. Plus the beaches on the mainland aren't nearly as nice as the beaches of his childhood (in his not at all biased opinion), so he's admittedly looking forward to spending time somewhere nice and calm, even if there's no stars in the sand.

He might not have had much roll in planning this shindig out, but he will still be doing his best to make people feel welcomed when they arrive, approaching anyone he doesn't recognize (which is... everyone, at this point) with a cheerful smile.]

Hey! We haven't met before. I'm [dialup noises] Fang. Do you want anything to eat or drink?

[He doesn't try to refrain from drinking, even if he knows that would be the responsible thing to do. He has his reputation to worry about, but it's not like anyone here knows he's an idol! Nobody knows about his career. Besides, it's not like anything bad could happen if he drinks... Or drinks a lot...

Later into the party, Ryuunosuke is well and truly three sheets to the wind. His face is flushed, his shirt disappeared at one point leaving well-defined muscles on display, and he's getting much more... handsy. Not in a frisky way or anything, but the polite distance he kept before is well and truly gone, the man taking to draping over people, placing hands on their shoulders, and being very Friendly. At least the universal translation means he's still understandable.]

Let's dance! It's the perfect time for it!

[Don't want to dance? Too bad, there's a very tall man hanging onto you now, giggling a bit from all the alcohol in his system.]

["Chaperone" is a pretty funny way of wording what Hien does around here, by Matoba's estimation, but what can he say? It keeps the cats somewhat herded. And just like they'd once talked about, sometimes you needed to be a little heavy-handed to accomplish that.]

[Speaking of heavy-handed, they'd all really let loose last time, huh? And now everyone is taking some well-earned time to relax and enjoy the immersive VR for a little fake vacation. It might not actually rest their bodies, but maybe it will put them in a better mental state...... Some of them, anyway.]

[With the swimsuit Matoba shows up in, high-ponytail getting the heat off his open back, Hien might not be getting much relaxation. Don't ask about the finer details of his character model right now.]

What are you doing all alone over here, sulking? [He's munching on a shaved ice as he saunters over from down the beach- Hawaiian blue flavor, to be exact.]

[ He turns around and looks at Matoba, staring at him for a while before turning back around. Why is he wearing that. Hien feels himself astral project a little. He no longer wants to be here. Help him, whatever gods may be out there. ]

[ He says, shoving a BBQ rib into his own mouth. It comes back out as a clean bone. ]

[ The look Michel is giving him conveys an entire volume of "don't make this sound weird." Because that absolutely sounded weird. ]

I was waiting until you didn't have food in your mouth to speak.

...."Fang", hm? [There's a moment where Matoba is staring up at new boy like his brain is trying to compute. Is it possible that he.......... recognizes him??]

[...If he does, he doesn't make it obvious right away. He just inclines his head in a slight bow, passingly polite.] You're right, we haven't met before. Makoto. [He doesn't have to explain his name if they're meeting in-person!! He's a little covered up for the beach, since he's not swimming at the moment, but that parasol sure seems nice for keeping the sun off. You know what would make the heat even better, though?]

Ah, I'd really like some shaved ice or ice cream right about now.... If you're offering. You're our server for today, huh?

[ He will make it sound weird, because dude?? Right in front of his bbq?? ]

[ Anyway, he will pause eating for now as he wipes his own face and hands with a napkin. ]

[Matoba, at least outwardly, ignores the sight of Hien's soul leaving his body to focus on his uncanny eating skill, as he turns around to look at him. Wdym, Hien, it's the beach?? He's wearing a swimsuit???]

[Since Hien is at a table, Matoba considers taking a seat, too. But there's only one chair at this table.......]

[Hmm.]

Anyway... If you're not, then you don't mind me joining you, right? [Matoba strolls over and scoots himself onto the edge of the table, right in front of Hien. Right in front of his salad. His legs cross at the ankle.]

Shall I suppose that the new cooking systems were your doing, then? [Fatass.]

[ How dare you dirty the sacred eating table?? Hien frowns up at Matoba. Right in front of his ribs?? ]

[Matoba is gonna pretend that "no" was for the cooking question and not about joining him, okok]

[He pauses in eating his ice, though, and frowns down at Hien.]

Why do you need it?? You suck that food down before it can even hit the table.

[ Sup, Levi! Memoir spots the crafting table, remembers that's what he saw Swallow using earlier, and decides to go over to give it a look. He peeks over at whatever Levi's making. ]

What are you working on?

[ Matoba would be right, since Hien just flat out ignored the part about joining him. ]

Sit somewhere else.

[ He's a sour guy, but this is just about his average interaction with Matoba. Nothing too scathing. Just the usual. ]

[Just the usual, indeed, which is why he's hardly bothered by it! That Hien, always so grumpy.]

[See, this is why he needs company. Which is why, at Hien's insistence, Matoba slides himself off of the table,]

[And lands himself side-saddle on Hien's lap, instead. He recrosses his legs and takes a bite of his ice.]

As you command, Admin-san. [He offers a bite of shaved ice up to Hien's mouth. Blue Hawaiian??]

Uh, are you okay with a bit of constructive criticism?

[Leo's okay with dying if it means his party actually goes well.]

This placement is kinda bad. I'd recommend the umbrellas... here. [He draws several little circles with his hooves in the sand.] As for the docks, spacing them out a few feet will give everyone more breathing room when it comes to casting lines into the water, I think.

[ Luckily, Hien is actually okay with this kind of constructive criticism because he knows he can't decorate. This is why he listens to Leo and follows his instructions. He can be reasonable!! ]
