[The time has come... for fun! Δ Haggard Traveler's Reprieve has been decorated with all the niceties that a beach party requires - docks for fishing, large umbrellas to hide from the sun, several tables with sets of chairs for sitting and conversing, and the most obvious addition: a massive roaring bonfire with a big cooking mesh over the top of it for barbecue cookin'!

Leo's wearing a fishing hat and aviators alongside his trademark loincloth-and-nothing-else getup for maximum dissonance. From his position on the other side of the bonfire, he waves a hand at those arriving.]

Welcome to the Beach Bash! Snacks and drinks are on the tables, bottles of sunscreen and crafting tables are under the umbrellas, and complementary fishing gear are at the docks for your convenience. Have fun, friends~

[Emperor Grunty is also here, should you wish to annoy him! He's currently laying in the sand with a reflector. What? Grunties need their sun too!]

[Oh cool, meeting the head admin! And not for horribly breaking the rules! That's good.]

Yeah, tables for sure! I'm thinking some big umbrellas for people to chill under if the sun is too much. Annnd if you can make slightly bigger alterations, docks for fishing. That way we can get people started on testing those gathering and crafting professions.

[ Umbrellas and fishing docks. Hm. Hien looks over to the ocean's horizon and is working his admin magic—

But he has terrible placement. This man can't decorate a place to save his life. All the umbrellas and docks are crammed side by side.

Uh, are you okay with a bit of constructive criticism?

[Leo's okay with dying if it means his party actually goes well.]

This placement is kinda bad. I'd recommend the umbrellas... here. [He draws several little circles with his hooves in the sand.] As for the docks, spacing them out a few feet will give everyone more breathing room when it comes to casting lines into the water, I think.

[ Luckily, Hien is actually okay with this kind of constructive criticism because he knows he can't decorate. This is why he listens to Leo and follows his instructions. He can be reasonable!! ]

Is that better? I'll have water guns out here too, and beach balls.

[ Nothing like water toys? Or something. He's trying. ]

Much better. Ooh yeah, those sound fun.

[Then Leo gets an imaginary exclamation point over his head.]

Oh shit, almost forgot. Gonna need a big fire for cooking the food!! Right here in the center for that would be perfect.

[ Ah, right. The bonfire is a necessity. Hien sets a bonfire area where Leo wants it to be along with some chairs surrounding it. What goes with this...

Hien gives Leo sever bags of marshmallows and skewers. This what the bonfire needs, right?? ]

[Leo can't help but laugh at this.]

That's a good start! But I'm planning on having a big barbecue cookout. I've got the meat and everything else except for... I guess a big enough cooking mesh to get everything over the fire?

[ When Leo mentions cooking mesh, Hien's tired eyes alight with recognition and sets up a giant one on the side of the bonfire. That way some people can still cook whatever they want on skewers and Leo can still have his barbecue. The bonfire is huge, so he thinks this mesh is good enough for three people to cook on at the very least. ]

Should I make it bigger or smaller? Or is this size right?

[Leo gives Hien a thumbs up.]

Looks good enough for me! Now let's see...

[Let's test the head admin's generosity.]

Would you be willing to add a few things for convenience? Sunscreen and crafting tables under the umbrellas, as well as fishing rods and such near the docks? Snacks and drinks I've already got under control. [Upon saying that, he begins yeeting stuff from his inventory onto the tables.]

[ No one will get skin cancer with the virtual sun, but he will assume that sunscreen is just a part of the culture. Yeah. Hien does as Leo instructs, trying to separate the fishing rods on the dock so that they're not all cramped together, since there seemed to be an issue with that last time. Sunscreen and crafting tables under the umbrellas...

He even adds beach towels under the umbrellas so that people can sit on the ground if they want to. ]

[After surveying the current setup, Leo nods satisfactorily.]

I think we're good now! I'll get starting on cooking.

[ Tylor is here to deposit his first collection of NPC vendor alcohol. He spent a happy aimless day gathering everything! Good thing he's late, so there's actually tables to set stuff on.

Beer, sake, whiskey, everything you can find around town. His favorite foods are here too, cream puffs and truffles and anything else he's picked up today. Including the fancier stuff from the casino. Yes, there are candied apples for Amon here too if he decides to show up.

Tylor will be over here humming happily to himself as he takes his time setting everything up with absolutely no organization. Most likely munching on a candied apple as he goes along. ]

[Leo watches as Tylor starts randomly placing shit with no rhyme or reason.

There's a soft sigh, but Leo doesn't chastise him or anything. In fact, the chaotic mess does speak to the goat-man. What's a party without a bit of chaos, after all?

He simply continues setting up more meat and veggies to cook on the open fire.]

No problem, boss.

[ Given enough time, there is plenty of chaos. There's some strange logic to it in Tylor's eyes, but once he's finished meandering his way through that his attention lands squarely on the open fire.

Would Leo like some fish. ]

Oh wow, you look like a natural! Do you cook like this a lot in real life?

[Sure, Leo would appreciate fish.]

Not particularly. But adjusting to working on an open flame versus a grill isn't too difficult.

Ohhh, so you grill?

Mhmm! It's one of the only forms of cooking I'm actually confident in doing correctly.

Wow, we're total opposites then. How do you know if you cooked it all the way?

It depends on the type of meat. Ribs for example, you can sorta poke at it, and if it starts to just slough off the bone, then it's perfect. If you wanna make absolutely sure, you can use a meat thermometer though.

Stuff like veggies are easier - you mostly just want a little bit of char on them and they're usually good to go.

[ Tylor nods along with seriousness as Leo goes on. ]

You're really smart. [ Said comically serious. But after, his tone lightens more and more as the words tumble out-- ] I don't think about it that hard at all. Enjoying everything sure is easy-- but you understand how to make things tasty. I really appreciate all your hard work, boss!

Do you even have a favorite food with all these delicious options?

Good question! It's hard to pick a favorite from among the stuff I've been cooking, but the one I decided on previously was the one I gave to Hien already to complete his quest. Pork butt, rubbed with a beer-based spice mix, and slathered in barbecue sauce.

I'd give you some to try, but unfortunately he ate all of it. [Leo chuckles.]

[ Tylor whistles at that explanation in appreciation. ]

Wow, that really does sound delicious. I sure hope you got to try some too.
