[ cyno raises a hand to cover his face, though he does nothing to conceal the amount of disappointment in his voice. it feels like a joke by now--- every area that he's explored has somehow begun in a rocky desert. is it going to play out the same way every time?

well. he can consider himself pretty well traversed when it comes to these areas... ]

[ Vogel is in fur lined armor. Heavy armor. The heat beats down on him and he tries not to slump a little. Can he have frozen tundras, please?]

[ and besides--- they shouldn't be in any danger. the two of them should be able to handle whatever might come try to attack them. then again, their actual synergies might make things a little difficult, but...

[ slithering and dark, cyno barely manages to smack away a hand that comes for his face. ]

We're surrounded!

[ 3 of them. that's like, 6 heads??? ]

[Sinclair swings his lance around, aiming to pierce through the body]

I'll cover your back!

[ there's no one else he trusts more than emil right now. if he can wear out the ones that approach, then cyno can repel the ones in front of him.

should be easy, right? ]

[ the closest lamia assassin leans in for another strike, only for cyno's scythe to catch it in the chest, knocking it away. ]

I think as long as we work on separate targets, we'll be fine.

[ and then the one that got pierced lunges again, hoping to strike emil with its blunt and fat tail. ]

[He can't dodge that without putting Cyno in danger so he lets it hit, wincing as his headset vibrates and his HP bar goes down a slither. That's fine. That puts it in close proximity again for Sinclair to ram his lance into its face, and then again until its down]

Haah...these are pretty strong compared to other monsters I've fought in these dungeons.

[ emil's a smart egg. when cyno's too slow to react to a sudden slap to the face, the sensation sends a sting all the way to his ears. the pain receptors being maxxed out is probably a bad idea, but it's feels really real!

Really? [ he growls as he swings again, sending his attacker backward. ] You must've seen some pretty scary ones.

[ so far it's been weird knives, thicc bugs, and... now these. ]

Mm. [Flashbacking to the ironball titan. Yeah, that was a pain

He has the pain receptors put up enough just to sense if he's been hit but otherwise--

He'll tank whatever hits come his way as he drives his lance through another lamia assassin's head. ] Maybe. I think it scales up as you level up...

[ the first and second lamia assassins are down, thanks to emil's impeccable strikes... and so is the third one. one head is sliced off, then the other. as the virtual dust clears, cyno hums. ]

So I guess we'll never not face a challenge. [ a beat, then: ] Good.

[ letting out a sharp exhale, he gestures towards the dungeon. ]

Wish it wasn't made of stone. Really want that resort right about now.

[What is with all these bloodthirsty people - not that Sinclair can talk, considering]

Haah...[Sinclair sighs, shaking off the adrenaline rush, as they trudge towards the dungeon. It's too hot to protest anything anymore]

A resort really does sound nice right now.

Maybe we could try only resort-themed keywords next time? Something that sounds nice...

[ and then share it with everyone. obviously, this is the way. ]

... and maybe the dungeon won't be creepy.

[ he can only imagine so much. he's not exactly the most imaginative person out there.

the stone walled dungeon seems boring. maybe it's because he's been in a few of these already, too? every footstep echoes and makes it seem even more hollow and lonely. ]

Do you play a lot of games?

Mm. A few. Though I've kinda forgotten to log in to play them since starting this one.

[It kinda pales in comparison! How strange. Down the dungeon they go, hopefully nothing will leap out at them

He's definitely a little wary about it. The quieter it is, the more nerve wracking it becomes]

Honestly, other games kind of pale in comparison to this one.

[ a pack of brown wyrms , idly hovering and moving about in a room ahead. ]

[Ah, wyrms. The nemesis of someone who has no ranged attacks]

Some kind of dragon...maybe?

[ cyno stops next to emil with a light frown. he's not doubting his partner's ability to fight; everyone has some kind of weakness... ]

What if I knocked them down to you? Could ping-pong them back and forth until they're no longer a problem.

[ oh.

That could work. The problem I normally have with them is that they like to go after me with hit and run tactics but if you can bring them down a little--

I'll ground them for you. It's my specialty! Kind of.

[ it's the ranged ones that give him fits, but ones that are pretty quick aren't a problem. even better that they're airborne.

anyway--- he steps up to the plate, so to speak--- maybe if he runs towards them they won't expect him to suddenly leap up in the air and start swinging???

okay well at least one of them didn't expect to suddenly get swept right towards the ground in emil's direction. the other two are pretty much Aware and get out of cyno's way. ]

[And as soon as one sweeps towards him, Sinclair charges forward with a triple wield, stabbing three times. It doesn't quite fall, its wings flapping angrily as it screeches and then darts towards Cyno]

Ah, behind-!

[ at least sinclair struck the one coming for him? maybe it'll be weak enough for cyno to take down when it closes in!

and... he does. as it approaches, cyno leaps up and swings his scythe a few times (lotus flower, 18). the wyvern is neatly sliced in half, though it fades from view soon after. ]

Ha! Got it!

[ internally fist pumps while another approaches from his side, ramming into cyno before he has a chance to react (15). oopsies. ]

Ah--careful!

[Sinclair is a tank and thus slow. He can't hit back (1) but he can step in front of Cyno the next time to absorb any damage as he redirects their aggro with brandish]

Let them come my way!

[ he's slow but he's sturdy. right? that means they should be fine, especially as they find the 'easier' target more appealing. the remaining wyverns flutter over and rear back, preparing to give sinclair a beating he'll remember?

unless... unless cyno can come in and slam them? before they strike??

it's dangerous, especially when he feels every strike. the half of his body that hit the floor just moments before aches from the pain sensors being enabled. so when he reels back and swings again, he has to pray for the best.

at least another succumbs to the flick reaper, but hopefully he can get the final one to turn while his own HP bar looks pretty....... bad ]

Sinclair steps forward, striking again (10) and it just hits. The wyvern screeches, windmilling back and then--

Sinclair hits it again, piercing through the head. (18)

It explodes into pixels and Sinclair breathes a sigh of relief]

I think that's the last of them.

[And then with a lot more worry]
