Mm, yep. That's how it goes when you're in the military.
[He speaks matter-of-factly, but he supposes a boy like Brambles wouldn't know that himself. That's not to say his twink ass wouldn't make it in the military, buuut...]
I ... I'm not really sure, actually. I do see a lot of pride from the UK's servicemen, even though I haven't ever known anyone in the army. Not even family. Maybe it's different overseas.
If I were to warrant a guess, though, I'd imagine it's really tough. And that you have to be a special kind of person to be in the army. Brave, strong, dedicated ... that sort of thing. I wouldn't last a day, I don't think.
... No? Who could possibly excel in life if they only honed in on their weaknesses? It would erode the spirit and encourage unwanted or unproductive thought patterns. Reflecting on one's weaknesses promotes maturity and growth, avoiding any conceited pitfalls, but dwelling would never help. Instead, it should motivate you to apply more effective methods in your life to propel you in the right direction.
Yael contemplates Brambles' words in silence... but then that silence drags on and on and on. When he looks over, he'll see Yael passed out beside him in the grass. That nerdy brain does wonders for putting an old man to sleep.]

[Yael's question is incredulous, but a moment later and he's snorting, clearly amused.]
What do you think, kid? Let's hear your guess.

[Yael is pretty far from the ideal, but they're not talking about him anymore. No, it's time to turn the spotlight back onto Brambles.]
You've got a big problem, now that I think about it.

I do? What problem is that?

You think too little of yourself. Knock it off.
