Who 🍰 owen & frenemies
What 🍬 area explores, depressing conversations, quests???
When 🍠August
Where 🍫 Lumina Cloth, et cetera
Content Warnings 🥧 Owen, discussions of suicide/suicidial ideation, violence & death, potentially other things that will be updated as needed.
Wildcard me! This will also be where I put open prompts, should I write any unrelated to the event. I might also add more top levels in the body! Hooray! Feel free to hit me on the plotting post, or on discord and plurk, both
revelries.

...And how long ago did you take my hand?
[Twenty-four hours? The thought of spending 24 hours literally attached to someone sounds like hell on earth. He can't even imagine spending 24 hours with someone while simply sharing the same room... That would only end in tears or bloodshed.
Why was he put on this earth just to suffer?]

Around 14 minutes ago, so we have 23 hours and 46 minutes left.
( Owen seemed like he'd been dead for too long, being still in the same spot he'd been left in post katamari Area shenanigans when Mithrun came back around again, so he was trying to check for a pulse. )
I did wonder what might happen if one of us tries to log out.
( He isn't really interested to help himself; he's just interested in seeing if it introduces a glitch of some kind. )

[He says it in a slow, lazy drawl, as if what he's saying is the most obvious thing in the world.]
There's one way to find that out.
[And he'll just - log out. Bye, Mithrun!
He'll try logging back in in an hour or two, because he actually is curious now... Will Mithrun be trying too is the real question.]

When Owen logs back in, he might get an error the first time or two, just because their login attempts didn't line up at the right second - but, finally, he's in! And so is Mithrun.
Their hands are still stuck together. He looks to Owen. )
... It logged me out, too.
( He says, as if he hadn't been trying to get back in for that hour or two. )

It is a bit disappointing to finally log back in and he’s still stuck to Mithrun.]
So we’re well and truly bonded for the next… what, 22 hours?
[Well, he could just go offline and do other things with his life… It’s not like he hates the real world like some of the beta testers.]
You weren’t planning on doing anything in game, were you?
[Not that he really cares but Mithrun is so weird who knows what the outcome will be.]

( So, he'd be doing that. )
... There's something strange about Fragment. It doesn't really matter what it is, but the administrators are trying so hard to hide it.
( Streisand effected... )

The more they try to cover over things, the more obvious it is something isn’t right here.
[A beat.]
Though can we really be surprised by that! They’re connecting games to people’s’ consciousness. If there wasn’t something bizarre and sketchy going on here I’d be more surprised then if there was.
[Just saying.]

Mithrun's tone is that of a verbal shrug. That's fair enough. )
It's technology much more advanced than any competitors'. It's bound to be unstable. But the types of issues occurring are...
( Well. He could be jumping at shadows, sure. Ultimately, he doesn't have reason to throw himself wholly into this mystery, yet. )
Do you not spend your time in the game beta testing?

I'm not interested in trying to break the code.
[But Mithrun does have a point, in a way, that there are things that are very suspicious.]
But I don't have to do that to feel there's something strange going on, if I'm getting titles from mysterious senders that aren't supposed to be implemented in the game at all yet.

These sorts of errors would have been easy to lie about, I think. But they didn't, or couldn't.

Their hands are probably tied, which makes it all that much more suspicious, hm? I wonder when we’ll find out the truth.
