The seconds tick on. They near turn to minutes. You can't struggle, you can't argue— you can only simply be, and it occurs to you that maybe you'll be trapped midway here, conscious, for maybe forever.

And then you hear static. Your vision warps; pixels strain into words, blurred and unstable. You see them combat for your attention; you see— )

You're right, we did talk! I remember that. But i don't need rare classes or items to be happy now, you know. not with all of you guys around to protect.


We'll all help you figure it out. Will you need a new cast? I can draw on that or your new crutch too.

don't burn yourself out, okay? we can't protect anything for very long if we fall apart doing it on our own. i think everyone showed me that much.

i think ill take it one day at a time. i don't even know if i can get a new cast like this. but i like the one I have. its got lots of memories.

if i can get a crutch somehow, yeah, you can draw on it. I like the ones you did before.

dont worry, im a great team player. That's an important part of being a tank, after all. I might not be as tanky as you or Em, but I don't have enough damage to do much on my own either.

I trust everyone to do their best, and I'll try to keep them all alive. So if we all work together, everything will work out alright.

Oh, but i guess I would rather burn out while I still have something to protect. I don't want to die either though, that doesnt sound fun at all. So I'll do my best not to for you, okay?

And if we can craft board games, I'm sure we can put together some crutches! Want to color on mine?

yeah. your drawings, and a lot of names i remember. my family and my friends. people i know that care about me. it makes me happy.

it's not fun. dying. it's lonely. i don't think you're meant to be a lonely person, tylor. you're too kind for that. so don't die yet.

you don't mind? im not very good at art. but i want to help cheer you up.

that makes me awful happy. It sounds like you know how much people care about you now. I was hoping you'd remember all of us, no matter what happened.

But isnt it easy to remember names when you can just view their stats?

I don't think I'm kinder than anyone else, really. Living all alone doesn't sound very fun either though.

Well, I like your art. You always try real hard and you pick nice colors. Art is what you make of it, right?

theres more to people than just a stat box. lily can make us forget that too, if he wanted. whatever we have left of our lives from before needs to be clung to really hard, even if it seems like it doesn't make any sense anymore.

i forgot morgan for a while. I almost forgot you and hani too. if he can do it to me, he can do it to you too. maybe it'll be hard to hear but i think it would be good to ask about what your friends remember.


you're nicer than my brothers. matt said it always looks like im trying to draw pigs in weird hats. i don't know what he means, but he always laughs at me.

I want everyone here to be able to go back, because that's what the people I love want. You should be able to choose how to live your life, so I'm fighting for that. For everyone.

I'll never forget any of you, because everyone I love is here. What else is there if I forget that?

[ If Bear looks across the beach at him, Tylor is laughing to himself, alone but easily visible from their distance. ]

That just sounds like laughing with you. Bringing joy with art matters too, even if it looks like pigs in hats to him. At least it made him happy.

[It just makes his heart drop, to see Tylor so insistent, to see Tylor laughing something off that shouldn't be funny at all. Even for someone as unwavering joyful as he always seemed to be in the strangest of times, this seems too strange. But there's nothing he can do from here.]

there was, tylor. i promise there were people out there that did, even if ive only heard you talk about them in stories

if all you can remember is from here, then fight for that too. lily can take that too. i know he did with me. no matter how much you want to remember, he might rip it away if he thinks he has to to make you happier.
