10/29 --- Δ Haggard Traveler’s Reprieve?????

Who: ??? & you!
What: Something's starting...
Where: Δ Haggard Traveler’s Reprieve (Twilight Shoreline)
When: Sunday, 10/29
Warnings: Will be added as needed.

( Perhaps intrigued by the mail allegedly sent by CC Corp, perhaps visiting the Shoreline by chance, gating into the Area goes as it always does, until the music stays cut for longer than it should, and the black, liminal transition screen lingers for a little too long. The seconds tick on. They near turn to minutes. You can't struggle, you can't argue— you can only simply be, and it occurs to you that maybe you'll be trapped midway here, conscious, for maybe forever.

And then you hear static. Your vision warps; pixels strain into words, blurred and unstable. You see them combat for your attention; you see— )

( And then you load in. )

SUSPICIOUS SEDUCTION (INVULNERABLE)

[personal profile] tablescraps 2023-10-29 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Suspicious Seduction: Macha's signature ability. Charms all targets within a mile radius simultaneously, making them susceptible to Macha's orders. This move is unavoidable and incurable.

• Whenever Macha casts Suspicious Seduction while invulnerable, the following will occur:
 • Macha will roll a 1d5 for each character. The charm is at its weakest when a character receives a 1, and stronger as we count up the scale to 5, its maximum intensity.
 • Macha will usually use his charm to attempt to line up characters for Tarvos's attacks.

• If your character receives a 4-5, I will note that they are charmed by Macha and regard him as a close ally. They trust him enough to follow his orders to a T.
 • In this phase of the fight, charm is dispelled when they take any amount of damage from either an enemy or an ally.
 • A debuff icon on each affected character will inform everyone of the dispel conditions.
 • A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast.

• If your character receives a 2-3, I will note that they are confused as to who's their enemy and who's their ally. Disoriented, your character will focus on attacking and will not use support, tanking, or healing abilities.
 • Each comment, players must flip a coin. If heads: your character attacks an enemy; if tails: they attack an ally.
 • Confusion is dispelled whenever the character takes any amount of damage from either an enemy or an ally.
 • A debuff icon on each affected character will inform PCs of the dispel conditions.

• If your character receives a 1, I will note that your character is under the RP effects of charm but is not obligated to do anything. Your character regards Macha positively, but does not feel compelled to act. Your character can shake the charm off through willpower at your discretion.
 • A debuff icon will appear on your character indicating they are charmed, but will disappear once the charm is shaken off.
 • A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast.

WELL-LOVED (BUFF)

[personal profile] tablescraps 2023-10-30 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
PHASE I
• A buff Macha started the battle with. It has no end duration listed, suggesting the duration is infinite.

• It appears to be an invulnerability buff.
 • Trying to attack Macha causes the following flying text to appear: Invulnerable! Too well-loved to be struck!
 • Using a Bracelet or Damage Core allows you to trigger Data Drain. However, trying to Data Drain Macha causes the following flying text to appear: Invulnerable! Too well-loved to be Data Drained!

• The source of the buff appears to be Tarvos protecting him.
 • This prevents Macha from taking on an active DPS role, despite having the Edge Punisher's toolkit for it.
 • Tarvos is able to cause injury to Macha without triggering the invulnerability buff.

• Macha seems to be immune to debuffs, but for reasons unrelated to his buff; the Well-loved Immune! flying text does not appear when debuffs are attempted on him.

PHASE II
• No longer up!

• Macha seems to be immune to debuffs, but for reasons unrelated to his buff; the Well-loved Immune! flying text does not appear when debuffs are attempted on him.
 • Deto was later able to stun Macha using a Damage Core. It looks like a Data Drain via Damage Core or Bracelet removes Phase immunity to debuffs.

SUSPICIOUS SEDUCTION (VULNERABLE)

Suspicious Seduction: Macha's signature ability. Charms all targets within a mile radius simultaneously, making them susceptible to Macha's orders. This move is unavoidable and incurable.

• Whenever Macha casts Suspicious Seduction while vulnerable, the following will occur:
 • Macha will roll a 1d5 for each character. The charm is at its weakest when a character receives a 1, and stronger as we count up the scale to 5, its maximum intensity.
 • Macha will generally use his charm to attempt to cause his enemies to fight on his behalf.

• If your character receives a 4-5, I will note that they are charmed by Macha and willing to fight to protect him to the death, believing he is a close ally.
 • In this phase of the fight, charm can only be dispelled by the character taking damage equivalent to 50% of the character's total HP. (Not current HP.) This damage can come from enemies or allies. A debuff icon on each affected character will inform PCs of the dispel conditions.
 • Example: If a character has a maximum HP bar of 100 HP, and they are currently at 25 HP, they will need to take 50 points of damage to be freed from charm.
 • Charmed characters can be healed by party members as normal, even while charmed. Consider this a healing check! You'll need to coordinate to pull the dispel off.
 • Depending on the ratio of charmed characters to healers and attackers, I may say certain characters have not yet met the dispel threshold in a round. In these cases, the charm will carry over to the next round. More damage dealt = more likely I will say charm has been dispelled!
 • A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast. Except... as a battle wears on and Macha is finally cornered, there may be a chance that he will no longer be able to yield a minimum of one ally per cast. When Macha is truly alone, his data will be at its most vulnerable. Only then can he be Data Drained.

• If your character receives a 1-3, I will note that your character is under the RP effects of charm but is not obligated to do anything.
