10/29 --- Δ Haggard Traveler’s Reprieve?????
Who: ??? & you!
What: Something's starting...
Where: Δ Haggard Traveler’s Reprieve (Twilight Shoreline)
When: Sunday, 10/29
Warnings: Will be added as needed.
( Perhaps intrigued by the mail allegedly sent by CC Corp, perhaps visiting the Shoreline by chance, gating into the Area goes as it always does, until the music stays cut for longer than it should, and the black, liminal transition screen lingers for a little too long. The seconds tick on. They near turn to minutes. You can't struggle, you can't argue— you can only simply be, and it occurs to you that maybe you'll be trapped midway here, conscious, for maybe forever.
And then you hear static. Your vision warps; pixels strain into words, blurred and unstable. You see them combat for your attention; you see— )

( And then you load in. )

MECHANICS
HOW TO PLAY
• Rolling to hit: A roll of 12 and above hits Tarvos; a roll of 6 and above hits Macha; a roll of 10 and above hits PCs. No contested rolls, and if your roll hits then any side effects (ex. Knockback, Debuff, Critical Hit, etc) also land. Since this is a FFA, we're keeping this quick and streamlined.
• Interacting with bosses: When engaging in combat, please make sure to mark in bold your intended actions, as well as its dice roll and any and all debuffs or attack effects. After a majority of players that are currently online have responded, bosses will react to all actions done to them simultaneously and declare their next moves, kicking off a new round. A new round will always be marked by boss combat actions. We will adjust this frequency as needed based on player availability and fight situation - ultimately our goal is to keep the fight moving and completed.
• Levels: Though we have up to an OOC week to complete the combat if needed, the battle ICly only takes place on 10/29, even if you OOCly drop in late after receiving your bonus AC rewards. Therefore, characters will be no more than level 75 during this battle.
• Availability (OOC): Players can drop in and out of combat as their schedule allows, and the battle will progress with whoever's available. If needed, we will establish round deadlines (ex. if boss character players will be asleep or otherwise unavailable.) We'll tweak the pace of rounds based on what participants find a comfortable speed.
• Availability (IC): While new characters can join the battle late, your character cannot leave the arena once the battle has started. We recommend checking in with the mods for advice if you want to do threads dated 10/30 and on before the battle is OOCly completed!
SUSPICIOUS SEDUCTION (INVULNERABLE)
• Whenever Macha casts Suspicious Seduction while invulnerable, the following will occur:
• Macha will roll a 1d5 for each character. The charm is at its weakest when a character receives a 1, and stronger as we count up the scale to 5, its maximum intensity.
• Macha will usually use his charm to attempt to line up characters for Tarvos's attacks.
• If your character receives a 4-5, I will note that they are charmed by Macha and regard him as a close ally. They trust him enough to follow his orders to a T.
• In this phase of the fight, charm is dispelled when they take any amount of damage from either an enemy or an ally.
• A debuff icon on each affected character will inform everyone of the dispel conditions.
• A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast.
• If your character receives a 2-3, I will note that they are confused as to who's their enemy and who's their ally. Disoriented, your character will focus on attacking and will not use support, tanking, or healing abilities.
• Each comment, players must flip a coin. If heads: your character attacks an enemy; if tails: they attack an ally.
• Confusion is dispelled whenever the character takes any amount of damage from either an enemy or an ally.
• A debuff icon on each affected character will inform PCs of the dispel conditions.
• If your character receives a 1, I will note that your character is under the RP effects of charm but is not obligated to do anything. Your character regards Macha positively, but does not feel compelled to act. Your character can shake the charm off through willpower at your discretion.
• A debuff icon will appear on your character indicating they are charmed, but will disappear once the charm is shaken off.
• A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast.
CURSED DEATH PLAY
•This will be attempted a total of 3 times at random during the course of the fight. •Only characters who have opted in for permadeath will be targeted..
•Every attempt will roll a d20 that must hit within a certain range to be considered an instant kill.
Attempt 1 - roll 1d20. 1-6 will count as a hit. (30%)
Attempt 2 - roll 1d20. 1-12 will count as a hit (60%)
Attempt 3 - roll 1d20. 1-18 will count as a hit (90%)
•If Tarvos notices that Macha’s HP has gotten too low, he will no longer use this ability.
EDIT - WITH MACHA BELOW 50%, TARVOS WILL NOW NO LONGER USE CURSED DEATH PLAY.
WELL-LOVED (BUFF)
• A buff Macha started the battle with. It has no end duration listed, suggesting the duration is infinite.
• It appears to be an invulnerability buff.
• Trying to attack Macha causes the following flying text to appear: Invulnerable! Too well-loved to be struck!
• Using a Bracelet or Damage Core allows you to trigger Data Drain. However, trying to Data Drain Macha causes the following flying text to appear: Invulnerable! Too well-loved to be Data Drained!
• The source of the buff appears to be Tarvos protecting him.
• This prevents Macha from taking on an active DPS role, despite having the Edge Punisher's toolkit for it.
• Tarvos is able to cause injury to Macha without triggering the invulnerability buff.
• Macha seems to be immune to debuffs, but for reasons unrelated to his buff; the Well-loved Immune! flying text does not appear when debuffs are attempted on him.
PHASE II
• No longer up!
• Macha seems to be immune to debuffs, but for reasons unrelated to his buff; the Well-loved Immune! flying text does not appear when debuffs are attempted on him.
• Deto was later able to stun Macha using a Damage Core. It looks like a Data Drain via Damage Core or Bracelet removes Phase immunity to debuffs.
UNWISE INDULGENCE
• All characters will be compelled to consume an item. They will be unable to take action on their next turn unless they do one of the following:
• OPTION #1) Immediately consume ONE of the following:
• • The center of the flower. It tastes both euphoric and repulsive.
• • If they refuse the flower, they will instead be compelled to eat any ONE consumable item (food/potion/etc) from their inventory. All normal buffs provided by said item will be nullified.
• • If they refuse to eat an item from their inventory, or do not have any edible items in their inventory, they will be compelled to eat ANY inedible item at random from their inventory. This will not hurt or kill them, but it will taste and feel exactly like eating the real item in question, and they will be compelled to devour the whole item.
• For any Option 1 action chosen, they will feel satiated and all emotional effects will die down instantly, but with the temporary comfort comes pain and malaise that settles into their bones. Player will be allowed action, but the feeling of pain and malaise will linger and cause a moderate debuff to Speed and all Defense stats. Debuff will last for three turns.
• OPTION # 2) Ask another player for help. This can be in any form, but must be done out loud and must be reciprocated. The emotional effects will become more bearable and no debuff will be taken. The emotional effects will die down completely within two turns.

SUSPICIOUS SEDUCTION (VULNERABLE)
• Whenever Macha casts Suspicious Seduction while vulnerable, the following will occur:
• Macha will roll a 1d5 for each character. The charm is at its weakest when a character receives a 1, and stronger as we count up the scale to 5, its maximum intensity.
• Macha will generally use his charm to attempt to cause his enemies to fight on his behalf.
• If your character receives a 4-5, I will note that they are charmed by Macha and willing to fight to protect him to the death, believing he is a close ally.
• In this phase of the fight, charm can only be dispelled by the character taking damage equivalent to 50% of the character's total HP. (Not current HP.) This damage can come from enemies or allies. A debuff icon on each affected character will inform PCs of the dispel conditions.
• Example: If a character has a maximum HP bar of 100 HP, and they are currently at 25 HP, they will need to take 50 points of damage to be freed from charm.
• Charmed characters can be healed by party members as normal, even while charmed. Consider this a healing check! You'll need to coordinate to pull the dispel off.
• Depending on the ratio of charmed characters to healers and attackers, I may say certain characters have not yet met the dispel threshold in a round. In these cases, the charm will carry over to the next round. More damage dealt = more likely I will say charm has been dispelled!
• A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast. Except... as a battle wears on and Macha is finally cornered, there may be a chance that he will no longer be able to yield a minimum of one ally per cast. When Macha is truly alone, his data will be at its most vulnerable. Only then can he be Data Drained.
• If your character receives a 1-3, I will note that your character is under the RP effects of charm but is not obligated to do anything. Your character regards Macha positively, but does not feel compelled to act. Your character can shake the charm off through willpower at your discretion.
• A debuff icon will appear on your character indicating they are charmed, but will disappear once the charm is shaken off.
• A minimum of one character will be in this category each cast.
