Post-10/28 Update ~ Guild Home Get-together

[ So, at some point, Ganymede's going to be coralling some people so they can you know sit around and talk at the Guild Home.

That's for the best, right? ]

Alright, everyone.

We should get right ahead and discussing the particulars.

Zelkova seems to be indisposed, right now. And we need to decide on a course of action, together, even if it's just banding together and I guess somehow dealing with the others who have been temporarily...changed.

So some items on the list:

1. We do know about the drawbacks of using the bracelets, right?
2. Does everyone know that they received a Core with a letter on it?
3. Do we know all of the people who have been 'changed' by Lily?

Yes, yes, and no!

[ To put things very simply. She'll go ahead and double-check her Core for the letter: ]

My Core has the letter "U" on it. And the only person I've personally encountered who seems 'changed' is Misteaks.

Zelkova and Cubia

Sinclair's sharing info from his guild with me, so here's what I've got.

Ongoing Report on Cubia, his mission and his followers:

Cubia - or Lily, as he had been renamed by Mr Misteaks - is Zelkova's "brother". Both seem to consider Emma Wielant and Harald Hoerwick (HH) to be their parents, but from what Mithrun said, Cubia's resentment seems to be directed at HH entirely, not Emma. Emma "creator of legends" appears to have died before the creation of Fragment, but her memory was embedded in Fragment through the Poem. Zelkova told me Cubia was abandoned by their father, and that he tried to find Cuba in the place all AIs go - the Netslum.

But he couldn't find Cubia at all. Zelkova said he'll get together some information in a week and get back to us

Anyway, Lily is a mere 'shadow' and needs humans to choose him, so he can be more than a shadow. In this world, that he'll take from CCCorp, he'll make it so humans are free to pursue everlasting happiness Suffering and despair elates him - and he wants us all to feel this way. That’s his happiness.

Lily said this: “There's nothing within me that hasn't been placed there by others...It wasn't until you all came into this world that I begun to take shape.”

If he's a shadow, who does he belong to? Us? Or Fragment?

Lily's Followers

As we saw at the meeting, most of the people who followed Lily did not take well to us implying Lily was bad. With Swallow, we tried experimenting to see if she would also get mad if I insulted Zelkova, but it didn't work. Maybe I'm just bad at that? Anyway

Mr. Misteaks (Barrett): He named Lily after his dead sister. He was promised that his sister would be revived here in Fragment. I don't want to get into the details, but this is wrong. He was very defensive of Lily, but he seemed to swing back and forth for a bit over my conversation with him over inboxes before he decided he wanted me angry and hateful. And he needed that reaction from me to study.

A confirmed data drainer.

Leviathan: He was angry with us too for criticising Lily. But he didn't seem as invested as Mr. Misteaks. I'm not sure what happened to him or if he's just following his brother. He seems really nervous but he was glaring at me that whole meeting? And he fought with 0koto? [edited 2 weeks later]: i saw him use data draining.

0koto: He knows a lot, but I'm unsure how to approach him. Oria said he made some sort of business deal with Lily, but seems to be controlled forcefully now? He fought with Leviathan and Mithrun at the meeting.

Uta: She's still nice, but she also thinks Lily just wants to be her friend and offer people salvation in a good way. Confirmed data drainer.

fandaniel: Spiderlily. Another person I'm not sure how to approach. Hani knows him well though...he didn't go to the meeting, but I think he was the one who tried to bring Hien to Cubia as the sixth person.

There are two others unaccounted for: Sunflower and Lotus.

Lily's Mission:
He will use the Wave to his advantaged, as it was pre-programmed into the game. He called it a prophecy. He said that when the Wave reaches a crescendo, everyone still there to witness it will know true happiness. So, for him, it's a means, a path.

What did Emma Wielant intend with the poem? And why did Harald Hoerwick place it here?

Cursed Individuals and the Cursed Wave

Cursed Individuals:
Hien: he's losing his sense of 'self'. He's trying to hold himself together but it seems to be inevitable. He's how I learned what Cubia looked like...Winter helped me recrate Hien's drawing. I think we need to keep talking to Hien as much as possible. I don't want him to lose himself.

He told me to remember my name and who I am: Emil Sinclair.

I wish I could help him more

Mr. Misteaks: He kept talking about how he needed me to be angry and hate so he could learn from me. He doesn't seem to remember anything clearly anymore. EDIT: He has been renamed Tarvos.

Mithrun: He's the worst affected. I'm trying to remind him he's real. But he thinks he's a program now, that exists only in Fragment. We need to keep reminding him he's human. EDIT: He's been renamed Macha.

Nanashi: He seems okay now but he had all his memories replaced at some point. We should make sure he's okay.

The Cursed Wave:

Unknown where the Cursed Wave was born.
After the stars doth cross the heavens.
The sky in the East doth darken and air doth fill with mourning.
From the chosen land beyond the forest, a sign of the wave comes.

Riding the wake is ██████, the Shadow of Death, to drown all that stands.
Mirage of Deceit, █████, Betray all with the flawed image, and did aid the Wave.
And by the Power of █████, a drop from the Wave doth reach the heavens, and creates a new Wave.
With the Wave, ████████, the power to tell the dark future, hope darkens, sadness and despair rule.

█████ schemes when swallowed by the Cursed Wave.
Macha seduces with the sweet trap.
Wave reaches the Pinnacle, and escape none can. Tarvos still remains with more cruelty to punish and destroy.
And with the turbulent destruction after the Wave. Only a void remains. From deep within the void arrives ████████.

Perhaps then the Wave is just a beginning as well.

EDIT:

When the Wave reaches a crescendo...true happiness will be achieved. Lily can only use the tools he has at his disposal in this program. What does this mean for us?

Mithrun Report (Macha)

Mithrun...
- is directly working under lily
- thinks he's a program
- says he was created for lily ("all of us were")
- is collecting information on how people feel when they're rejected romantically because he feels that it's his purpose (one-sided feelings)
- said that he doesn't have enough time to collect data so he tried more "aggressive methods" (see twilight shore)
- wants to stay behind because he doesn't want to leave Barrett (Misteaks) behind. Said he promised.
- says that Misteaks is already "like him" and collects data on hate
- can no longer walk
- no longer has internal organs like a regular person does

Misc:
- stepping into Twilight Shore makes you feel like you're in love with Mithrun romantically, in which Mithrun rejects you no matter what
- the field effect is intentional by mithrun ("i forced you to confess [your love for me]")
- felt extremely disgusting when the effect wore off
- attempting to kill mithrun ejects you out of the area

Wave Battle Notes

As we have been fighting with each Wave, I've noticed some things that set apart some little things from the first fights with Macha and Tarvos.

Starting with Michel's, it was a little more involved. We had to open doors to affect him, and his own as well, in order to reach out to him. Bring him out of the cruelty of the darkness and back into the light, the 'kindness' waiting to embrace him again.

With Uta's, it looks like talking to her, reminding Uta of her songs' impact in our lives brought her back to the surface...maybe that was her "rebirth". Even if things ended the way they did.

Then, with Owen's, I noticed when Memoir, Sinclair, Fuurin, and Michel were doing things with the stage, it affected certain things. Made it look 'brighter' than the execution stage. I think thematically it removed the 'deceptive bad ending' and changed it into a 'true ending'.

Also unlike the others, Anaido was a casualty of this. So, I guess we should also take care on how we approach the Phases. Though I know our group is careful, I just want to be sure everyone remember this as time goes on.

...So, going ahead, other Waves will clearly have other aspects we would need to engage or reach out to in some way. We shouldn't keep from fighting them, but maybe we should think about coordinating that as the battles will get tougher?

10/30 "party"

[ This victory is worth celebrating. Even if there is more to come.

In the barebones meeting hall of the guild @ home is laid out the basics of a get together: bowls of chips, a cake that reads CONGRATULATIONS, a couple of bottles of wine, soda, some beers, and paper plates and plastic cups. Faint music plays on the radio, a simple BGM loop of the Root Town music, and one slide is up on the projector that says We did it! 2/8.

One table has an assortment of health and SP potions, bandages, and other simple medical implements. It's the day after, after all. You should still be resting (STARES DIRECTLY AT GANYMEDE).

Eat, drink, mingle, discuss. Maybe knowing the rest of the waves are coming, they can tackle the next ones in a more organized fashion. ]

Also he will probably be here...on his own feet, maybe to get some wine. ]

...Uta is Corbenik. I learned that right after the battle.

[ Resting? RESTING? Well, if Ganymede won't, Kara will. She'll just show up to the guild, glance at the cake and grab a glass of wine.

She downs it pretty quickly before she moves to (slowly, carefully) sit down and close her eyes. She'll be like that for some time, almost as if she's asleep...but should anyone pass by, she'll open one eye and glance at them. ]

[Compared to Some People in this room, Dehya came out of the battle pretty okay. Scuffed up but nothing that'll hold her back for now.

She's on her second glass of wine pretty quickly as she demolishes a large slice of cake.]

I know we're not out of the woods yet, but seeing Morgan and Barrett at the end was really a relief. It looks like everything Lily, er, Cubia did was reversed by the data drain Zelkova gave us. Including losing their memories.

11/6 Post-Corbenik

...Well.

They couldn't win every fight.

Shoka brings along food from the various food stalls and mall restaurants for the after party this time. Plenty of variety, and surely enough to take some with for later meals, thanks to the convenience of their inventories.]

...Fandaniel's confirmed as a Wave. And... Barrett told me Cubia probably got to 0koto, too. But he doesn't want us to engage.

...It sounds like even if Cubia's gotten in his head, 0koto's pretty set on killing Cubia himself.

[ She's not even remotely surprised that Fandaniel turned out being a Wave, and for as much as she'd like to tear him apart at the moment, she will leave that to other people. As for 0koto... ]

Set on killing Cubia...as a potential Wave? I thought the Waves were always meant to obey him?

[ He scowls at Fandaniel's name, and then at the rest: ]

It's too bad it might not be up to him.

[ Ganymede doesn't mean them; that others can find out and kill the waves before they transform but feel free to have it taken any which way.

He's sitting down for the record but he looks real pissy and like he doesn't want to be here. But thank Shoka for that instead of him fighting uselessly with Fandchell. ]

11/12 Post-Innis

[ So, after arrangements, Ganymede is around to make some calls (texts) or requests to come to the meeting. Consider it when people are bound to be mostly around and all that, but, well.

Other things are on the agenda. There's food and stuff prepared personally by Ganymede. ]

...It looks like we managed to take care of Innis and got Owen back.

Fandchell is still out doing his thing, too, though.

[ We can pretty much be vague until whatever is done with Magus is done, but he speaks about these things, and even adds: ]

We should also probably talk about Hien too. But, I'm not sure where else to start. Has anyone gotten any updates?

He seems in a much better mood this time around versus the last two. Just two more to go... And then what? ]

He's apparently a lot crueler than he used to be. [ He shrugs. ] That's what Misteaks told me, though. I don't know Hien personally.

Seems like Hien and I are always missing each other. As the last two wave fights... they'll probably happen close to each other, too.

11/20 Post-Skeith

[ Ganymede calls everyone again for another meeting. Though he makes notice it is not necessarily...mandatory.

Today, he has candles around, lit, and a flower (Mourning Lilies) placed in the middle of a table.

There's also food, but it is not heavy. Lighter still, but tailored for a more solemn time, and the portions are smaller with the assumption no one will feel in the mood. ]

...If anyone wants to say something about Kara, feel free.

Or other things, or... not at all, that's fine too.
