It's... a complicated feeling, but one he chases away by bringing their lips together and lingering in a kiss that's just as chaste as it is vulnerable.

He never thought he'd hear his name again. What a novel feeling. What a painful one.]

[ Fai leans into that kiss, cherishing it for as long as Yael allows him to, before pulling back. It would have been easier to choose “Yael” instead, and it would have kept a lot more distance between them, setting a firm boundary between what they really are and what they could be.

And yet… he couldn’t do it. Yael went with his gut before, and it’s only fair that Fai chose to do the same. ]

[His monotone, noncommittal answer is what it is... but his fingers curve to brush along Fai's lips, cradling his cheek in his palm.]

I was given the name Yael when I was adopted. It means "mountain goat" or "little lady," depending on the spelling.

[ Fai tilts his head just enough so that he's pressing his cheek up against Yael's palm. It's warm, so warm that the gap between the game and reality is more noticeable than ever. ]

[ He smiles, soft and sweet and sincere. ]
