MAC ANU ~ GANYMEDE'S MCMANSION

The everpresent afternoon sunset hangs, echoing picturesque across the glass windows apparent at each spot within the large building. In a large room full of tables and what not are heaps of various cuisine settled here or there. Seafood, pastas, drinks, the like; Mediterranean style so if nobody likes that...gomen.
Ganymede has made it clear that he prefers people to be here in order to get themselves together. Sorted, somehow. They're all acting with a sort of independence he seems disinterested in disturbing, but he wants the prospect of potential solutions to be floated along.
If someone has new information they can share, well, it is encouraged. If not, he hopes that they will at least participate in some way.
It now begins.

(( OOC Note: People will not be attacked by monsters once within the McMansion, including pool area. ))

No one hurts my family. NO ONE.
[ Ganymede is trembling with anger, gnashing his teeth, but he's not leaving Michel's side. And he will not be jumping into doing any attempted physical altercations, far too concerned about Hani to do either.
Besides, words sometimes can hurt more than any act of violence can, and that will be Ganymede's comfort for now. ]

[ Knowing perfectly well exactly what prompted that reaction, Michel won't try to talk him down. He just runs his palms up Ganymede's arms, holding him gently by the shoulders until he's sure whether Ganymede is going to lurch for Misteaks or fold into a hug.
Although it doesn't help — as his gaze finds Hani, then Sinclair, and then returns to Ganymede — that Michel feels very much the same. ]
...It will take time, but they'll heal.
[ It isn't the same as Ilus, this time. ]
no subject
He's tense in Michel's hands regardless, rigid like a statue still, even if he doesn't try to get out of how he's holding him. ]
How long?
...He better make up for what he's done. What he did can't be taken back.
[ It's like he's barely comprehended the entire 'they'll heal' portion because he is not feeling normal about this at all. His words aren't being logically strung together. ]
no subject
If healing doesn't work? A month. Perhaps two.
[ He thinks. Not a reassuring answer, but still. Time will flow. Michel studies the deep electric blue of Ganymede's eyes, the visible fury in them. ]
...It can't. Whether he regrets it later or not. He hurt Hani for no better reason than that they tried to protect S— Vogel.
no subject
What if he's hurt like that forever? ]
It's not fair...
[ Ganymede never wanted anything like this to happen. Yet, here they are. What should he have expected, really? People are always going to be like this... ]
...Yeah, exactly. That's exactly it.
[ He catches the slip up but he doesn't question it, finally deciding to lean against Michel's chest. ]
no subject
[ There's no fairness here, either. A world they can shape to their liking? What would that change?
When Ganymede leans in Michel finally wraps his arms around his waist. For once, he's too lost in thought to really consider that they're still in public. What they need is to understand why this is happening. Why did Misteaks lash out like that? What was Lily trying to do...? ]
...People are going to begin acting more erratically the longer this goes on. Everyone feels backed into a corner.
no subject
In a place like this where wounds become harder to heal. Where their minds seem to distance further still from any semblance of anything logical, it seems all they have is each other.
He hopes they'll remember that too, in moments like these, which he does so keenly. ]
...That's part of why I put together this meeting. So that we could feel a bit more secure in all of this madness. But, it turned out like this.
At least some info did get out, though I still wonder what this will all mean for our future.
no subject
Everyone's actions are their own responsibility. Your intentions reached... most.
[ He thinks Ganymede wouldn't blame himself for this. But considering which old memories this had doubtless brought to the surface, he can't be sure. ]
What we learned should be of use to everyone.
no subject
I'd hope so.
[ Ganymede doesn't say so with certainty. He's feeling a bit too cynical. ]
...That part is definitely true, though. Now that people know more, I think we might be able to all act better on it. Or some of us will.
no subject
He's still trying. But things are looking worse by the day. ]
Better than acting in ignorance. [ And if they're dividing along lines of loyalty, better to know that now. ] Given the numbers... now we know that it might be more practical to fall back to an easier location to defend. Protecting the root towns may not be worthwhile.
no subject
But still angling for the best of things happening despite conditions worsening. ]
Yes, better than that by far.
[ ...Anyway. ]
What kind of place would be easier to defend than a Root Town?
no subject
Michel's gaze drifts towards Hani again, his arms still steady and secure around Ganymede. Is this the best time to talk strategy? But maybe it's a distraction... He has no deftness with these things. ]
The recreational areas aren't being attacked yet. The mall and the camping grounds each have food supplies, if nothing else.
[
Michel really wants this to go full slasher movie]But we'd lose easy access to the Chaos Gates if the Root Towns become inaccessible.
no subject
...So in the end Root Towns would be best to defend.
Just because of the risk in abandoning them. Even if they're not easy to.
[ He sighs, thinking about things. Why can't they just smash monsters and then they stop coming? That's far too simple of a plan and he knows it, though, leaning a bit more into Michel. ]
We'll have to find where they're coming in from. Where they all are.
no subject
They're only data. There's no limit on the number of them that could be made. They don't occupy space, they're only...
[ A concept, a template waiting to be stamped. He stares off in thought. ]
Short of overloading the system with so many of them that it can't generate any more, I doubt there's a way to do that.
no subject
[ Help he's not a data person and shows. Ganymede sounds so confused that he's definitely lost by a mile and a half. ]
What if there's only one way the 'data' can get in, though? Can't we find a way to overturn that?
[ Override... ]
no subject
Do you mean, disable the write or copy privileges on who or whatever is creating the monsters? I suppose... if we had higher access than them. Which must be admin, at least. Or delete the monster data from the codebase entirely.
no subject
...Yeah, that! That's exactly what I meant.
[ It's clear that Ganymede understands none of that. ]
Maybe we can rewrite stuff too.
no subject
You have no idea what I just said.
[ But it can't hurt to have given him a little focus and direction. ]
...Perhaps. You could try asking Zelkova. He might be able to, even if we can't.
no subject
Ganymede flails a little before reaching out to poke at Michel in return. Even if it is a very gentle pinch. ]
So mean!
[ He's pouting at him, but he looks thoughtful. ]
...As in be able to do all the things you listed out right now?
no subject
[ In other circumstances, it would be a fascinating conversation to have. Now, well. He's tired, and his hopes are few.
He tolerates the pinch with the slightest smile of amusement. Yes, he's very mean. He deserved that. ]
no subject
I'm not good with coding and all that, so I wouldn't think to ask.
[ He sees that amusement and wants to both kiss as well as pull on his cheeks. He decides to shift so he can plant two kisses on either side of the other male's face. Perfect retaliation. ]
Thanks for the suggestions.
no subject
[ But he accepts his reward with a little tilt of his head for each kiss. After a moment of hesitation he leans down to press one of his own to Ganymede's forehead as a promise. ]
