Who ⬤ Ganymede and Co.
What ⬤ Dungeon-crawlin', exploring, talking with people. What can go wrong?
Now featuring some potentially cw-worthy memshares, or content involving that.
When ⬤ Following first meetings, and anything related to the below subjects.
Where ⬤ Coiling Friend's Tiny Beast, ΔHidden Forbidden Holy Ground, Root Towns
Content Warnings ⬤ Mentions of drunken behavior.
Further mentions and displays of captivity, kidnapping, stalking, and subjects relating to suicide.
[ Following some enlightening discussions that have more or less blossomed into actual plans, an unlikely band of four adventurers assemble!
Names added to friends' lists, details hashed out, which means one thing and one thing only, that the next point some adventuring is happening. Though, given that it is everyone's (probable?) first time, it seems that there is no way for anybody to choose specific places or areas they might like!
Thankfully, that's what the random Area Exploration mechanic is for.
Ganymede steps forward, and just decides to select a perfect set of coordinates for everyone...

...Not! As if even he can be decisive at this point. He lets everyone know that these are the keywords they'll be working with. "Coiling Friend's Tiny Beast", that is.
So once the Chaos Gate is utilized for them to all cross over...
Welcome to the wonderful location of Coiling Friend's Tiny Beast! Apparently it's an area that has a rocky desert-like appearance that stretches out for miles on end. Not to mention, there is a wonderful-looking flesh wall that is the proper beginning of the dungeon crawling, and entry point into the actual dungeon that is bound to be teeming with treasure and creatures.
But, they're not inside that wall as of yet. ]

Michel startles, but his arms move on some scrambled reflex to catch Ganymede before he can faceplant. Or worse — land in the water. Although even Michel himself looks surprised to not find himself stumbling overboard as well.
As a result he stands there frozen for a moment, one arm around Ganymede's waist, the other hand holding Ganymede's slender upper arm. He's showing no signs of releasing him yet, or even trying to say something clever, just blinking down at Ganymede from a suddenly very close distance. ]

People back at the theatre would be having a field day to know he stumbled around like that. But smaller boats are a bit more of a precarious situation when one isn't minding their steps. Also, he has definitely ensured that his hands gripped onto the other, fingers somewhere on the front (chest) of the other male to continue holding on.
His stupid mind unhelpfully supplements it's like a ridiculous scene out of a movie. But, you know, the last time he was this close to Michel, the other had leaned over, and ... ]
...You caught me.
[ That was such a stupid and obvious comment. Yet it came out like that anyway. ]
no subject
[ Said as though he thinks he needs to provide a justification for why he did that. What should he do now? Ordinarily he could easily make another dismissive joke of it. Open his arms and let Ganymede catch himself, or fall. But... ]
Are you really well enough to be out here?
[ He's not a considerate person, but he's not unaware that Ganymede just got out of the hospital. And after having seen him collapse just a day ago... unthinkingly, Michel tightens his hold a little.
It's strange. It's — not quite comfortable. He's never held anyone like this. He's never felt strong enough to catch anyone before. It isn't real, he knows that; but just for a moment he wonders if this is what he was hoping for when he joined this game. To feel like this kind of person, even just once. ]
no subject
...He kicks his stupid brain before he says something like that outloud.
Ganymede scrunches his nose up. No, he's feeling exactly fine. It's exactly the point as to why he's hanging around here in the first place. And yet, he finds the idea of being held like this not entirely abhorrent. He even is finding that he likes it. His mind is being entirely traitorous right now. ]
I'm fine. My head's clear and all that.
...You know, in retrospect, if I had to be caught by someone, I'd really rather it be someone thoughtful enough to be concerned about me.
[ There. The statement is him being honest, even as the boat's finally making its way to the other side of the river. But he's just going to remain cozy, just like this. In Michel's secure, warm emb—grah. Anyway. ]
Just try not to make any sudden movements, or we'll both be pitched into the river for sure.
no subject
...Where on earth are his thoughts at? Perhaps he'd been awake more often than he realized, checking the messages compulsively for any response. He's practically sleepwalking still. ]
Who said anything about concern? I just had no intention of joining you in the water.
[ Which explains his transparent worry in no way. Is it excusable to tell himself his thoughts are scrambled by the feeling of Ganymede's lithe waist still held securely by his arm? It's "Winter's" build and not his, but even so... he chose this design thinking only of the possibilities within easy reach. To see if those tiny changes affected in the slightest — anything at all. ]
...How long should I stand here, holding you?
[ He means it to come out with a note of amusement, but something in his own tone brings a hint of heat to his face, and he goes very taut in self-restraint. If he jerks back now because he's embarrassed, it'll be the river for them for sure. ]
no subject
Though, there is definitely a small considering sound escaping him when he hears the other male present his response. ]
Is that really all?
[ But, he finds his lips practically traitorously threatening to curl upwards. The other male's defensiveness is also adorable. Then, feeling bold, he can't help but say: ]
...How would you feel if I said 'as long as you want'? But, of course, not so long that your limbs start to go numb in the real world. It's only fair I'd consider your health as well.
[ Maybe Ganymede saying what he had in the first sentence can make Michel tip them accidentally into the river and wash away their embarrassment.
Or maybe not. He tells himself he's getting back at him for that earlier comment about those pictures, but he might not be that honest with himself right now... ]
no subject
Or maybe he should hope that it is. There's no logic or precedent to it. But the simple words, "as long as you want," send a prickle up his spine of — warmth? excitement? — some nameless emotion that only deepens his confused, startled blush. His fingers twitch against Ganymede's back, as if in indecision about whether to draw him closer or let go. ]
I'm fortunate to be fallen on by someone so considerate.
[ And soft to hold. Comfortable. He fits oddly well there, enough that if this had been anything other than happenstance, Michel would have to find himself becoming uneasy again. But when he thinks of how abrupt and aloof Ganymede often is, it strikes him that maybe... Ganymede was more uneasy about what happened than he's admitting? ]
...You're so light that I barely feel it already. In fact, I'm not certain there's anything there. How am I supposed to know if my real-life limbs are going numb>
[ And to demonstrate, he flexes his arm to squish Ganymede just once. ]
no subject
He feels the sudden twitch of fingers and chalks it up to his victory. Though a light scoff escapes him at the words...at first.
Then, there's the rest. ]
What do you mean you're not certain? I'm right in front of you—!
[ That certainly is a squawk that leaves him at the immediate flexing of his arm and subsequent squishing. ]
...Not a single word from you.
no subject
Michel falls silent in malicious compliance to that imperious little order. Not a word, is it? But squished close like Ganymede is, he can probably feel Michel's shoulders begin to shake slightly in suppressed laughter.
Nevermind that Michel is someone who doesn't do that. Just this once — he squishes Ganymede gently one more time to see if he'll make another funny noise. ]
no subject
Now you're doing it on purpose!
[ Slipping a hand out from where it is to see if he can pinch Michel's nose in retaliation.
Also, by now, the boat ride is probably being parked nearby a dock or something. ]
And would you look at the time? I think you're having too much fun. Keep it up and I'll hold your nose hostage!
no subject
...The 7 is a little underwhelming for that, and his wobbly balance thwarts his escape before he can get far, forcing him to put a hand on Ganymede's waist again to steady himself. It means Ganymede has a nice clear view of the look of surprised indignation on his face, too. ]
What fascination do you have with my nose...?
no subject
Well, in most circumstances even he'd have thrown a look for someone's hand landing there, but Michel has reason to hold on, and if anyone should be grabbing at his waist... you know what, he has no idea where that thought was leading.
He'll just move right along. ]
It's easy to reach even if you're tall.
[ Nice one, isn't it? But he will let go...only to shift and extend his hand to Michel after he's certain he is right back on his feet, standing tall. So, you know, if the other male needs to hold on for balance. ]
...Come on, let's going.
no subject
He pauses a little, eyeing the hand extended to him with momentarily surprised misgiving. He'd never been particularly polite about gestures like this... but it's not quite the same thing, when Ganymede had almost fallen just a minute ago. Hopefully Ganymede doesn't pay any mind to the awkward hesitation before Michel reaches out and takes that hand firmly, stepping out of the boat with just a little wobble. ]
...You're never at rest.
no subject
He doesn't think twice about the gesture, even if he'd never say he's polite. If the other had any questions he'd claim 'it's only fair', is all. He does note the hesitation, but Ganymede also sees no reason to comment on it. ]
I like moving around a lot.
[ He remembers being stationary for so long ago, but no...this is no place for this. Ganymede shakes his head, letting go once the other is standing on level ground with him. ]
But, speaking of rest, I think it's about time I get to it. Hani would be sincerely cross with me if I push myself far too much. [ A light, mischievous glint in his eyes, but it fades away quickly, expression looking back to thoughtful; a bit soft. ] And I've worried you enough too.
Still...before I get to proper rest, I'd like to give thanks for humoring me a little. It was nice.
no subject
It's strange to recall that he had thought Ganymede guarded at first. Or that that had made him more approachable. Another person who seemed prepared for a fight against the world. ]
I don't want to find out what it would be like to have your cousin angry at me.
[ It should be easy to make himself say just a little bit more. "And I don't want to see anything else happen to you." "And I won't be done worrying until we understand what happened." But he can't quite do it. Perhaps he doesn't want to be so cold that it would wound Ganymede. But admitting to more than that...
He gives a little shake of his head to brush aside the thanks. It's unwarranted. But even so, unknowingly, his expression has relaxed a little further into a small smile. ]
...I'm glad you "invited" me.
[ It was more of an imperative. But that's fine. A little charming, even. ]
no subject
Yet, even those flickers of waking have yet to truly breach past the realm of the dreaming into full cognizance. His smile appears, the blond's hands sticking behind his back for a moment as his own fingers play in a bit of fiddling. ]
Whatever you say, then.
[ It sounds like a cross between sarcasm and something potentially ... light-hearted. But he'd refuse to give a name to it. ]
...So, until next time, Winter.
[ And with that, Ganymede makes good on his promise, logging straight off finally. ]
