Who ⬤ Ganymede and Co.
What ⬤ Dungeon-crawlin', exploring, talking with people. What can go wrong?
Now featuring some potentially cw-worthy memshares, or content involving that.
When ⬤ Following first meetings, and anything related to the below subjects.
Where ⬤ Coiling Friend's Tiny Beast, ΔHidden Forbidden Holy Ground, Root Towns
Content Warnings ⬤ Mentions of drunken behavior.
Further mentions and displays of captivity, kidnapping, stalking, and subjects relating to suicide.
[ Following some enlightening discussions that have more or less blossomed into actual plans, an unlikely band of four adventurers assemble!
Names added to friends' lists, details hashed out, which means one thing and one thing only, that the next point some adventuring is happening. Though, given that it is everyone's (probable?) first time, it seems that there is no way for anybody to choose specific places or areas they might like!
Thankfully, that's what the random Area Exploration mechanic is for.
Ganymede steps forward, and just decides to select a perfect set of coordinates for everyone...

...Not! As if even he can be decisive at this point. He lets everyone know that these are the keywords they'll be working with. "Coiling Friend's Tiny Beast", that is.
So once the Chaos Gate is utilized for them to all cross over...
Welcome to the wonderful location of Coiling Friend's Tiny Beast! Apparently it's an area that has a rocky desert-like appearance that stretches out for miles on end. Not to mention, there is a wonderful-looking flesh wall that is the proper beginning of the dungeon crawling, and entry point into the actual dungeon that is bound to be teeming with treasure and creatures.
But, they're not inside that wall as of yet. ]

[ It certainly is. Ganymede doesn't want to admit that is difficult for him at all. But, that statement rings so very true, and why he doesn't feel like he can say anything against it. ]
...Blaming myself? For what?
no subject
[ It's always the what-ifs, just like how Ganymede tried to be the calm one at the face of his own memory. ]
no subject
[ But, he did blame himself. If he had been stronger...he absolutely could've done better. ]
no subject
[ Oria turns to look at Ganymede with a small smile. ]
That's why it's fine. Don't blame yourself if you do.
no subject
[ So he says. Though then he'll add with a huff: ]
But, I suppose that's a part of being human, isn't it? Acting contrary, or nonsensical...against all logic.
[ He'll raise an arm, as if to block out the brightness once they step out from the hall of mirrors. ]
no subject
[ He knows that logic doesn't always reign supreme when it comes to people. Emotions and being socially well accommodated is important too. He can't just blow one thing off to be the best in a single area. In that sort of world, he needs to be a jack of all trades.
Now that they're out from the hall of mirrors, Oria feels a little more relaxed. ]
Because if humans were always logical, the world would be a much boring place.
no subject
That would be a relief.
[ Ganymede says dryly, going back to his usual self just a bit. Perhaps even he has felt the lessening of pressure once they have come back out into the virtual sun and carnival proper. ]
no subject
[ Something like that. To say that so dryly, Oria thinks Ganymede is feeling a little better. ]
Let's get some food. My treat.
no subject
[ It sounds like a quote spoken by someone wise, or maybe in one of those inspirational or heartfelt movies.
It feels almost kind of true. But maybe even moreso now, since he's far less of a simple person than he was when he was younger. ]
Food from one of the carnival stalls?
no subject
[ Though he seems to ponder about something... and smiles at Ganymede again. ]
And I'm sure they have. It's a good quote for a reason.
no subject
[ Ah, but then there's the boomerang comment... ]
Because it's something like a life lesson, kind of?
no subject
Something like that. It's supposed to teach people how to appreciate what they have. But everyone is greedy and always want more. It's just in our nature.
no subject
Maybe I should consider myself fortunate where that is concerned.
[ ...About lack of greed, anyway. Though he doesn't make the distinction clear. ]
no subject
[ Greed isn't always a sin, Oria thinks. It could be for knowledge, power, or any concept that exists, but in abundance. ]
no subject
...Only that I am not so greedy to desire more than what I need. More than what is necessary, essentially.
[ What good is there in holding such a selfish desire? It does no one any good, as far as he is concerned. ]
no subject
[ Because Oria thinks people only do that when they've been burned by it... ]
no subject
Greedy people tend to be selfish. They want more than they're satisfied with, at the expense of others.
[ Oria might be right on this matter. ]
no subject
[ Oria says that without hesitation. ]
I've met all kinds of people in business and let me tell you, no one wants money so desperately more than they do.
no subject
It'd be more surprising if you hadn't...
[ Who goes into business to do anything else but make money, he wonders? ]
no subject
[ Oria looks at Ganymede. ]
You think if I did some speech on the podium, some old guys three times my age is gonna take me seriously? Not until I say the s-word.
[ Sponsorship. ]
Then they suddenly make me a king.
[ ew. ]
no subject
...Then, after which, they're suddenly proclaiming themselves to be your vassals and searching for the nearest softest and most comfortable pillow for you to sit upon.
[ The mercurial attitude of such people are truly the worst. ]
no subject
[ To be able to just say it like that? Yeah. ]
no subject
That kind of attitude is pervasive.
[ For the most part he was (is) used to it. Usually, it isn't much of a problem. The kind of greed that extends beyond performative boot-licking, though, that is where issues can arise (not that it can't in the other scenario, but you know.) ]
no subject
[ Honestly, with how Ganymede looks like a model, it kinda... tracks? He feels like he's looking at a celebrity, but he has no clue who he is. ]
no subject
[ Truly living up to his namesake as Ganymede, like from the legend. But ostensibly not, for obvious reasons. ]
