Your party heads off to Great Superior Night Moon in search of treasure and adventure. You gate in and find yourself in a snowy tundra stretching as far as the eye can see. Located within the heart of the field is a forest dungeon lush with treasure and crawling with monsters.

On your adventure, you encounter several strong foes, Sky Fish, Mugai Wyverns and Smiley Rays among them.

After carving a path through your foes, you finally make your way into the dungeon.

The dungeon run seems to be progressing quite smoothly. As you reach the end of your adventure, you hear a gentle, quiet voice whisper to you... "Welcome, weary traveler. Allow me to bless you before you depart."

The disembodied voice has blessed you! A pair of wings sprouts from your back! You'll enjoy the freedom of flight and be able to get to places in Areas and towns that no one else can. This blessing will wear off after 24 hours.

Oh... [To Sinclair] Please don't concern yourself. I'm sure if he had any ill intent towards you, you would know it. It's just so funny to hear someone say that about Hien-kun with genuine feeling.

[The glance he passes over towards Oria has the brimming mischief of a cat.]

[Well.]

"Friends"? You have a funny way of interpreting things, Oriade-san. What about us seemed "friendly" when he came to fix that player glitch, hm?

I don't know?! I mean, I can believe you have friendships too, Koto, even if they're weird.

[ He's not going to bring up "friends with benefits" out loud either, if Matoba doesn't actually have friends. ]

[ Please don't make Sinclair log off mid mission. He glances between Oria and Matoba and just...nods. He'll accept this]

[ Hien being kind and all]

[Matoba raises an eyebrow at Oria, his small smile hiding any further hint as to his feelings.]

As far as that man is concerned, I don't think that you could say we are "friendly". Let's leave it at that, shall we?

[The look he turns onto Sinclair is.... pitying, perhaps. Matoba isn't really the sort of person who can or would hide such a thing. But he will give some advice here... Advice that he will deliver again, very soon.]

If you're going to allow my teasing to sway you, then your feelings towards him must not be that strong, hm?

Believe what you think you should believe. Other voices are not important.

[ Sus, but Oria won't chase after it. He'll just pick up some more materials on the way while they go. Yeah! Best way to handle things.

Though if he bullies Sinclair past a certain threshold:

[Uncomfortable again! Wow, that bonding moment over the duckies sure was over quickly. A tiny frown]

Mm...[He feels like he's being laughed at?]

[He wasn't letting that sway him to begin with]

[Teehee!]

[No one ruins a good vibe like Matoba Seiji. He just smiles between the two boys; he's happy to let it rest at that.]

[And if they have any further questions about what's going on with him and Hien........... Maybe you should try asking straight from the horse's mouth, Sinclair? :)]

Shall we continue? [Matoba reopens his grimoire; still with that filthy, obvious boylove bookcover. Better than having to look at human flesh!]

[ He's not interested in Matoba's weapon skin, so he will just not look at it. Yeah! But he can see Smiley Rays coming over from a distance. And you know what they do? They take advantage of the little bodies of water that's here and there throughout the forest and they're fast. Their attacks are many, but less impactful, and definitely more annoying. ]

The wave is starting! Get ready!

[ Oria shoots at them, but he misses half of his shots because of their high dodging tendencies. No wonder this is the boss-type monster. ]

[Sinclair slides in with a brandish, eyes sharp and wild as he draws the aggro]

Let them go towards me-!

[These are annoying. But Sinclair has gotten better at holding it down and hitting back when they get close]

Hmmm, they're pretty fast....

[How about an AoE spell to let them run into on their own, hm? Matoba casts a BiJuk Rom, and the flurry of leaves covers the area- the Smiley Rays dip through the air, but so do the leaves, cutting through them as they weave to and fro.]

[Good thing being partied up prevents friendly fire!]

Shall we try and group them together?

Alright!

[ Steam Gunner is a crowd control class, they said. Oria shoots several Thorn Shots to crit and stun several enemies so that they're easy for the picking under Matoba's spells and Sinclair's lance. It works really well to stop those pesky Smiley Rays from jumping into another body of water. ]

[Lord Partizan is a tanking class, so Sinclair does his job and stays still as the Smiley Rays come for him. He swings, into a Triple Wield to keep one pinned, and he'll keep doing this while staying still. Perfect bait tbh]

[That's more like it. The damage from the magic is helping to corral the Rays into Oria's line of fire, and them ganging up on Sinclair helps, too. In fact, since Sinclair isn't bothered by fire, Matoba will lob a few more of those super-effective fireballs his way to blow up the rays that are hovering around him.]

[He can handle it, right?]

[ Area of Effect spells are incredibly convenient for wiping out mobs like this, but then... he glances over at Matoba. ]

I know he's a fire type, but aren't you kinda overdoing it?

[Fire doesn't hurt Sinclair directly, but it is fueling his annoyance with the smiley rays a little. He gets a little more vicious, a little more accurate with his attacks, cutting down the remnants of the Smiley Rays as they fall from the sky.

Sorry, when he gets like this, he doesn't feel like talking]

Am I? My apologies.

[He glances over at Sinclair going turbo-aggression on the Smiley Rays....]

...Seems to be getting results, though, isn't it?

[That's fine, he can switch back to the AoE attack instead, though! :))) He values his friendship with you, Oriade-kun.]

[ Oria just sighs as he takes at everyone's general status. He knows what its like to look after It's really only Sinclair who's losing HP right now, since the other two are in the back and most of them keep targeting Sinclair. ]

Don't forget your HP potions!

[ Oria snipes one that made it past Sinclair. ]

--right.

[That reminds him to pull back just enough to top up his HP again, but he's back in the thick of it, swinging his lance out in a harsh swinging arc]

[The Rays seem to finally be thinning out- and a swing of Sinclair's lance takes out the last one, the forest settling into an eerie, quiet silence.]

[Matoba waits, tension in the air, with his grimoire still open and another spell almost at the ready--]

Hoh? Is that the last of it......? I think we've won.

We did it!

[ Oria is so glad. Aiming speedy targets constantly was about to give him a headache. His trigger finger is also tired. ]

It shouldn't be too much left until we see what waits for us at the end~

[Why is his armor so blackened this run??? He sighs as he takes his HP potion, nose wrinkling a the sensation. But that tops up his health bar at least]

Mm. Just get to the end and we'll get the blessing.

[At least this one was guaranteed. Wings!!]

Well done, everyone. [Matoba deactivates his grimoire and rests it back on his hip; ahh, the feeling of camaraderie after a success! Such a nice sensation.]

[Don't worry about all the damage he did. Friendly fire isn't a problem as long as it's not doing damage, right?]

I am curious about this boon; I haven't managed to activate it yet. [Matoba did random rolls for his dungeons, most times- but he'd been convinced to come along and get wings, in light of the new root town.]

Oh, let's not forget the equipment chests. By the way, the both of you work in tech, isn't that right? And how are you enjoying what's on offer here, so far?

[Just slipping this on in at the end, when everyone is riding the high of victory :) Don't worry.]

[ Oria catches that immediately because his business senses are in frequent use from people always try to pry information out of him in meetings. Seriously, with the way they underestimate him, he'll pay them all tenfold. ]

You'll like it a lot, but I guess they'd call the wings cute too, if you like that sort of thing.

[ He also sends Matoba an inbox message since he can multitask while moving on in the dungeon.

Nothing is wrong! Though if Sinclair answers Matoba's question, Oria won't stop him... ]

[Sinclair doesn't let his gaze slide over to Oria in question, even if it's instinct. Oria had a lot more to protect with his identity than Sinclair did, after all. Sinclair bites his lip, busying himself with collecting his parts to make potions and other things]

Mmm...it's alright. I'm not sure if I'll be any good at it though.

Cute? ...Haha, I don't know if 'cute' really suits me, but...

[Ding. Matoba's inbox pings, and he glances to the side at his UI that the boys can't see before turning back to Oria with a smile.]

But I am asking normally? [What do you mean, friend? 🙂 He glances back to Sinclair and tilts his head.] Ah, are you perhaps not on the in-depth side of things? My mistake... There's all sorts of typical office jobs in any industry, isn't there?

Perhaps that is important too, though. A game like this appealing to more than just the maniacs will really change things. Don't you think so too, Oriade-san? [Can't help but notice you didn't answer! Teehee.]
