[ Arrive at Mac Anu, where the welcome party was held, to find it...empty? A quick look on the forums shows a little edit to Hector's post:

So that's where he is.

In the center of the brightly illuminated nighttime city, Hector's set himself up for his little get together. But since he doesn't have any tables or plates or anything fancy like that, all the alcohol and food he bought from various vendors are just...strewn around the floor. The food is probably still good to eat, though. It's fine. Take what strikes your fancy!

Hector's wearing his outfit again. He lounges on the steps of that funky spinny thing in the center of town, and anyone who gets close enough to hear him will hear music coming from his mic. Give him a break. He's doing his best.

When enough people have gathered, he might actually get up and drag everyone into a drinking game.

So enjoy—eat, drink, mingle, and smack your friends! PvP is enabled here, after all :) ]

[His smile twitches, because he's trying to say something, but what comes out is a struggle-]

That was just kind of a dark question to drop on everybody.

I'm sorry. I really don't know what's come over me. It's been weird for a while since that run....

Ah, I don't want to impose on you. Sincerely, I don't.

The run? You mean a dungeon run?

[Is this poor guy cursed... rip in pieces. What kind of curse makes you be so gloomy, though?.]

You're not imposing anything. I just know not everyone likes to be touched. I figured I'd ask.

No, I'm alright with being touched. I just don't know how to ask for it.

[As far as the physical touch dilemma, he can't help the chuckle that comes up, bright and simple.]

That's easy. I find somebody I trust and tell them "hey, I'm having a rough time. Could I ask for a hug?" They'll let me know if they can't.

But they'll never know if you don't say anything, right?

No, no, the head gear! I got it from the run.

[And....hrm. He folds his arms - as much as he's being cheery, he seems a little conflicted, even a little pained.]

Surely it can't be that easy.

Oh. The flower crown. [He nods, acknowledging the misunderstanding.] It's nice looking.

[He shrugs.]

Maybe not at first. That's why it takes trust.

Ask me for one anytime. I don't mind.

[wowcool]

It does take trust.

[He looks like he wants to take it - just ask, of course. But he's hesitant all the same, glancing down at the table.]

I want one. But I don't want to impose. I don't...want you to pity me.

[He doesn't mean to say that, but it comes out.]

...Heh. No, I get that.

I'm a little sad that you don't feel you have any friends. But it's because you seem nice and smart. Enough that I think you could have a lot of friends. So it just makes me kind of curious.

Still. Everyone needs comfort sometimes. There's nothing to feel sorry about for that.

[He'll hold his arms open at the hips, very casually, gesturing with his hands.]

[.......He sort of....timidly....stands and comes over.]

[He doesn't really dive into the hug, but he's slow about it, as if expecting it's going to be rejected.]

[Barrett waits patiently, up until the personal space has been broken. It's only then that he meets Anaido and wraps his arms around his shoulders tightly, a bear hug in its most classic sense.]

[There's a brief moment, like a wild dog that's received a pat and doesn't know how to react, freezing....before he just slumps into the hug and returns it.]

....You give really good hugs. [...] This technology sure is something.

[gluttoning]

[He gives a boyish little chuckle, a nice rumble of a noise with Anaido so close.]

Isn't it cool? I won't ever understand how it works.

It's nice for things like this, though. [Pat pat pat on his shoulder... there, there, friendless stranger.]
