open | party like you're 35;
Who ☀ Hector & "everyone"
What ☀ It's Hector's birthday!
When ☀ August 5
Where ☀ Lumina Cloth. Surprise!
Content Warnings ☀ drunk people, will add as needed
[ Arrive at Mac Anu, where the welcome party was held, to find it...empty? A quick look on the forums shows a little edit to Hector's post:
So that's where he is.
In the center of the brightly illuminated nighttime city, Hector's set himself up for his little get together. But since he doesn't have any tables or plates or anything fancy like that, all the alcohol and food he bought from various vendors are just...strewn around the floor. The food is probably still good to eat, though. It's fine. Take what strikes your fancy!
Hector's wearing his outfit again. He lounges on the steps of that funky spinny thing in the center of town, and anyone who gets close enough to hear him will hear music coming from his mic. Give him a break. He's doing his best.
When enough people have gathered, he might actually get up and drag everyone into a drinking game.
So enjoy—eat, drink, mingle, and smack your friends! PvP is enabled here, after all :) ]

We're popping Lumina Cloth's cherry! See you there :-)

Haha, sure, I would agree with that.
no subject
But with that, he remembers something-- ]
Oh, and let's try PvP over in the arena when I'm not a frog, ribbit! We're both capped, aren't we, ribbit?
no subject
[Matoba looks... reluctant, somehow. Even at their current levels, unless he can out-DPS Oria with casting, there's not really much point to it.... His gunner skills will tear through his Phys.Defense like tissue paper.]
Here's an idea. Someone among us might as well gather data in order to figure out the damage forumla, right? So that eventually we'll have the ability to calculate DPS for certain dungeons given a party.......
no subject
But man, damage calculations? Well, it's worth a shot, even if it's really not his thing. The area explorations were just dumping information, while this feels like precise recording. Hm. ]
That sounds like so much math... Does any class have a scanning ability, ribbit?
no subject
It does! I'm not exactly a math wizard myself- or perhaps a math warlock might be the better way to put it? [Ha ha.] But at least we can generate data for those who are better equipped to do so.
Of course, we are in an active beta. I have no doubts the devs will be changing things as we go along, so who knows how long such data will be useful for.
no subject
Also that joke... Matoba, please. ]
For some reason I don't think they'll change damage numbers unless the difficulty is too hard or if they get an outrage from the general public, ribbit. That's assuming someone is a leaker among us, ribbit.
no subject
Then again, I wonder if there are enough of us participating to gather enough data for that... When I received the invitation, I figured there would be more participants, but seeing now what this game is... It probably wouldn't be feasible.
no subject
Why not, ribbit? Too many casuals, ribbit?
no subject
Math isn't my forté, but logically, I can see that it's simply a matter of statistics, There aren't enough players, playing enough of the classes with different builds, armor, and the like, playing enough variations of dungeons to accurately model a wide enough variety of scenarios to balance the game to fully.
Once the game releases and the general public floods in, then they will be able to accumulate the amount of data required to make fine-tuning more possible.
no subject
[ Though he thinks of something. ]
Koto, are you leaving this place any time soon, ribbit?
no subject
...By this place, do you mean the party or the beta?
no subject
[ The frog looks eagerly up at Matoba... ]
no subject
[And they're not even drunk! How funny is that.]
Why?
no subject
[ And Oria the frog hops away... He comes back a little after thirty minutes and the frog is looking for (1) Matoba. Where he at. ]
no subject
[Matoba repeats, eyebrow raising, a touch apprehensive. He isn't certain he should be excited for any surprises Oriade has in store for him, and considers dipping, but that would be the coward's way out, wouldn't it?]
[Thirty minutes later, Matoba is hanging around one of the other rounds of NHIE, still nursing a refilled cup........]
no subject
[ Oria spots him and hops on over. ]
Here, ribbit.
[ It's a cat. Very soft. Very huggable. ]
no subject
[He pauses, cup still to his lips, eye wide with wonder before unequipping the cup to stoop down and pick up the cat. It's soft..... So soft, so squishable....]
[He holds it in his arms and squeezes.]
My... What a delightful little kitty. Where did you find such a thing, if I may ask? A dungeon drop, perhaps?
[If it is, he knows where he's gonna be for the next week.]
no subject
[ ... ]
Play responsibly, ribbit.
no subject
...
I'm quite good at crane games, you know.
no subject
[ Crane game specialist is a very useful skill when you have girlfriends on the regular and giving them a gift. ]
no subject
By all means. One of these days, a group visit to investigate the casino, perhaps.
no subject
I bet people would stop investigating and be hooked on the slot machines, ribbit.
[ He lets out a little squeak, supposedly a laugh. ]
But that's all I wanted to share, ribbit! Hope you like it, ribbit. I should get going before I get squished by someone, ribbit.
no subject
Bread and circus, as they say.
But it's not all bad. I'm sure that revenue from the machines will go to something.... useful.
[Smile.]
I do hope that little affliction of yours will wear off, soon.
no subject
[ And he hops off into the glimmering distance that is the pathway of Lumina Cloth... ]
