Hector's brow raises at the sight. It's...not exactly a match for the rest of the area—the other places he's been to thus far seemed to match up in style—but in a way, he's not surprised. Of course it'd be a flesh wall. ]
I want to say I'm surprised, but I'm not.
[ Lord help them if the monsters inside are also...appropriately themed. ]

...I retract my comment. But I won't praise them for recycling textures like this.
[ If he steps foot in that dungeon and there are worms of any kind, he's immediately filing an error report requesting a "vote abandon" feature. He doesn't need to be genre-savvy for that. ]
no subject
And yes of there are any themed monsters Sinclair will second the 'vote abandon' feature. Luckily for them, they only come across a line of treasure chests. Sinclair pauses]
...do these normally appear in dungeons this early?
no subject
I don't think they do? [He's only done one dungeon so far, so anything goes... but leaving treasure right at the entrance is a bit suspicious.] Be prepared for traps of some kind just in case.
no subject
[ Hector doesn't think they should be here this early on in the dungeon, either. But maybe they got lucky? He scans the ground around them and finds a nice, fist-sized stone, but it's covered in...flesh goo? He hesitates for a second, but ultimately stoops to pry it from its sticky casing with a little sound of disgust.
Gross.
He steps back a bit, giving himself room in case they have to book it, and throws it hard at one of the treasure chests...
If it's fake, hopefully that triggers something. ]

They didn't give Harvest Cleric any ranged attacks...?
[ Sir, you're made of stronger stuff than him. Luckily that "attack" gives Michel a more immediate concern, since the chest lid pops open and a... slimy claw-looking thing emerges. Time to move in to stab that immediately. ]
no subject
Ew. I think they're all mimics.
[Watching the chests rattle--except for one. Huh]
no subject
[Drawing a circle in the air with his staff, he traces an advanced earth glyph in the middle of it.]
MeGam Rom!
[The glyph shines bright, then shatters into a series of large stones that fly up in the air and rain down on several of the mimics. Leo makes sure to aim the rocks out of the way of his allies - friendly fire isn't the name of the game, especially right now.]

Hector appreciates how quick everyone is to move in to fight, and he does his due diligence to leap backwards, out of the fray. A dead healer's a useless healer, anyway.
(He is, though, quietly impressed by that earth magic. Nice one, Leo.)
Pinning Michel as their main frontline DPS, Hector gives a little flourish of his oak wand and casts Ap Do on him. Enjoy your increased Speed, buddy. Mow 'em down. ]
no subject
Considerations for later. Michel quickly spams Ogre Slash to pick up both mimics; and then a second time, thanks to that speed boost. Hector gets a quick nod of appreciation. Michel is quiet, not utterly without manners. ]
Thank you.
no subject
That's three of them.
[And if Sinclair seems steadier when crushing monsters...well. That's nothing. It's all a video game after all :)]

GiVak Don!
[The circle spins in place, setting ablaze, then splits into snake-like tendrils of flame which swirl past Sinclair and Michel and slam into more of the mimics.]
no subject
This is heavenly. ]
Keep it up! They're almost dead!
[ Hector's basically sitting here, just twiddling his thumbs. A little verbal encouragement couldn't hurt right?
Nor could another Ap Do on Sinclair. Zoom on, my friend. ]
no subject
Well, the party is running so smoothly. He can shelve that to consider another time. Blade Brandier is fun to play when all he has to think about is spamming the speedy combos, one quick attack into another Cross Slash. Mimics in all games deserve it on general principles. ]
It's unsettling how easy this is with a full party.
no subject
Mm. I usually only get to run in pairs, so this is really different.
no subject
I think I've softened these ones up enough! Might as well save the SP for the potentially harder enemies later on.
[He gives Hector a knowing grin.]
no subject
Hector isn't one to sit back, though. He picks up another slime-covered stone from nearby and gives it a hurl at the mimic with the lowest HP. It connects, but it isn't a very impressive throw.
It's fine. He's contributing. He rests an arm on Leo's shoulder and grins in return. ]
Yeah. Better save our energy for the main event.
[ whatever that could be... ]
no subject
The chip damage from a stone might not be much, but neither is the mimic's HP. Michel snorts when that KOs it and turns his attention to drop the last ones with Sinclair. ]
Good planning. Particularly if we run out of stones.
no subject
Will we really need more?
[Onwards into the fleshy gross dungeon!
With some strange looking starfish sticking to the walls. Gross.]
no subject
A bit weird of a place for these to spawn, don't you think?
no subject
He only spares the starfish a glance, resists the urge to roll his eyes. Ugh. ]
There has to be more to this dungeon than metaphors. Aren't we here for a specific quest?
[ Or is this really just some weird joke by the devs? ]
no subject
[ Winter glances at Vogel, and then decides against completing that question. What teenagers get up to searching on the internet is their own business, but he's not going to contribute. ]
Mm. A "famous book" is in here somewhere. Since monsters don't usually drop loot, there should be a chest.
[ He hopes, because if they have to get up to their elbows in flesh wall to find it, he's out. Quest or not. ]
no subject
A starfish was a metaphor for something?]
Usually it's towards the end, isn't it?
[By the way guys. Those star fish? Are squirting water as you walk by. Have fun]
no subject
MeGam Rom.
[His chant is quick and to the point, firing a blast of rocks at the stupid fucking starfish. He's not getting wet in this dungeon, no thanks.]
no subject
[ One starfish sits on the other side of the hallway, away from Leo's rocks. It squirts, and a generous deluge splatters over Hector's hair, face, shoulder. ]
—Eugh!
[ No!! He did not consent to this!!!
He stops in his tracks, wipes his face... Is this really water. Or is he imagining it stickier than it actually is? ]
