[It takes a while to find him. He keeps checking the dog park, but when it becomes clear that isn't where Hien has decided to spend his time anymore, he starts looking through the other special areas and-

[ Hien slowly turns around to see Nanashi when he asks the question. It's unfortunate though, that he doesn't seem to know what Nanashi is talking about. ]

What eye?

[ The halo is behind his head and hasn't appeared in mirror images, so as far as he knows, he's never had a halo or any of these weird things. ]

Your halo. You don't see through it?

[That kind of answers itself, though.]

[ Hien slowly blinks. As if to reaffirm, he waves his hand above his head and around it. The smoky halo goes through his hand and arm, but it still retains its shape. ]

... Vogel said something about that before, but I don't see it nor feel it.

I guess it's part of Cubia's curse after all...

[ He turns his head back to watch the wisteria and magnolia trees as Rem the pomchi continues to happily prance around the images of said trees. The petals that fall go through Hien and if Nanashi gets closer too, they also go through him. ]

[ After a moment of contemplation, he speaks up: ]

[ Hien is quiet for a moment until he turns his head towards Nanashi again and puts a hand on top of his head. Gentle headpats. ]

I'm surprised that no one is trying to kill me right now, if it seems that obvious.

If it's going to be a big fight like the others, we can do it properly.

I can handle my own against Mithrun.

[ He says it like it's a fact rather than any pride of being the "stronger" one. His emotions seem a little muted than usual, but it might be hard to tell because he normally speaks with a flat monotone when he isn't riled up. He withdraws his hand. ]

I think... I'd rather be killed early than to have many people involved with the possibility of dying.

[ He knows what's still left of himself: the brutality of heavy violence. ]

In the tournament a while back, I showed others what it's like when I was outnumbered. Maybe it'll be similar to that, or maybe worse. After all... I'll be turning into a monster.

Hien blankly stares at Nanashi. Rem the pomchi stops running around the image of the trees to stare at Nanashi too. No tail wagging. A pomchi face full of disappointment.

Hien won't dignify that with a verbal response for now, so he just continues to blankly stare at Nanashi. Even the halo behind him has the realistic eye in the center and it just looks over at Nanashi in an exasperated way. ]

[ Hien can't tell the future, so he just stands there, staring at Nanashi some more. ]

If that's the case, you just need to get better.

No, you just unnecessarily took on the burden of people's lives before they even ended.

Let me give you some advice as a fellow Harvest Cleric, since you don't seem to understand some things. People's lives are not your responsibility. If they fuck off immediately into a bad situation after getting healed just to die, that's their stupidity and has nothing to do with you as a healer.

Also, your job as a Harvest Cleric is to heal people who have done all they can to mitigate damage first. Healing should not be the first action. You should be a safety net, not heal priority. Tell your party that next time. Get a good formation with a Macabre Dancer.

No excuses. If you think it's easy to shoulder the burden of human lives, then that should be simple in comparison.
