You know what, I think I'll ask Vogel to cook it for me. Then it would no longer look gross.

[ We can always fast-forward to Ganymede visiting him in Net Slum if we wanna be really funny about this. ]

Anyway, when Ganymede comes to visit Oriade in the Net Slum infirmary, he'll find him strapped to one of the infirmary beds with an oxygen mask over his mouth. He's not very happy about his situation, but at least he's not flailing around. ]

Oria?

Why are you wearing that?

[ Sometimes, there are consequences from battles. But Ganymede doesn't realize what they are. At least he seems...awake, though. ]

[ Oriade's gaze wanders a little until he hears Ganymede. He doesn't have his glasses on, so Ganymede is just a big blurry blob of yellow to him. ]

Is that you, Ganymede? Wearing what...

[ The straps attached to the bed? The oxygen mask? Patient clothes? He does not know. ]

[ganymed]

[ He probably looks like a moving mini-sun, huh. ]

The oxygen mask? And the straps? That seems excessive...maybe?

[ Yeah............. ]

Water got in my lungs, so it's helping me breathe.

[ He endured a lot but couldn't go on for too long after the battle... ]

... I wanted to find Koto.

[ganymed]

[ ...Oh.

Ganymede recalls starkly plunging after Oria in an attempt to get him not to sink in the water and failing. Urgh, of course that'd have had consequences. ]

I...right, during Uta's battle, right? Does it hurt, even with help?

[ He has no idea what wearing an oxygen mask is like. ]

...Who is Koto?

[ Ah. Right. There's a small wry smile on Oriade's face. ]

Sometimes, but I think they'll finally extract the water out of my lungs soon.

[ He doesn't know how that'll work, but it will happen. ]

And he's... the one with the announcement recently. The next Phase.

...I hope so. They seem to know what they're doing so they should do a good job.

[ If they know what's furricking good for them. ]

Oh. About the Progeni-something or whatever.

I'm not really sure what was going on with him as a Wave. Everything like that seemed really beyond my understanding. Though, I'd also hope he'd kick Cubia's ass, but I don't think it's going to be easy. Were you trying to follow him to stop him from going ahead with that?

Yeah, it definitely won't be easy. There's no way he can take Cubia down by himself and I'm... worried.

[ Uta just died, so the fact that Phase bosses can also take their hosts down with them isn't really something he wants to think about again. Ganymede could probably understand, since they were in the same situation.

He actually liked Matoba as a person. So he just felt desperate to stop it from happening again, and thinks Cubia would do something even more terrible to him. ]

[ganymed]

I don't know him very well, but he seemed like not too terrible to talk with.

[ They spoke at length about cats. It was a very involved cat discussion that involved Ganymede sending pictures of a 'cat'? To Matoba.

But, either way, he understands the worry. ]

If someone could intercept him somehow...maybe sending a message or something, I don't know. [ He sighs. ] If he's clever enough, maybe he could get out of dodge before it's too late if the battle isn't going well.

...Are you two friends?

He's... yeah, I'd say so.

[ He'd win another cat plush for him, honestly. ]

He had important things to do...

[ In the other world? Or something? Oriade's memories feel like a mess with massive cognitive dissonance. ]

... so I doubt he would have thrown away his life.

He doesn't seem like the type.

[ Not really, or rather, that was the vibe he got. Matoba has struck him always as the kind of guy who smiles but has answers (due to Meeting vibes), though he will try to ensure he stays on top. Maybe?

Recklessness, however, does not seem his modus operandi. Could it be the influence of the Wave? Or maybe...he was feeling desperate too. Like the rest of them. ]

...Maybe we'll have a chance to catch up with him in some way, before it's too late. Even if that might be too early to say too.

... I really hope so.

[ ... ]

He can at least wait until I get better. Geez.

[ Oriade laughs a little. Of course he wouldn't. Matoba is Matoba and time waits for no one. ]

...I'm not sure if that guy is feeling that patient.

But, it'd be nice, right?

[ Oh. That reminds him... ]

Do you want me to fetch some snacks for you? You can't really move around much, but if I give you something to put into your inventory you can have celebration food on hand once you're better.

[ It would be nice. Oriade feels a little regretful. He had some things he wanted to ask him as someone who just understood some things. ]

Also, I wanted to talk to you about the gravesite logistics... but not now. I need to see how the next phase boss battles will turn out. I also need some help.

[ Ganymede just makes a nod, making a note to do exactly that, and move right along.

...He knows what this is about, though he can keep his expression steady about it now. ]

Do you have some ideas on where? I could help narrow it down, and other things. We could decide formally after the next slew of phase battles, but I don't see how it'd hurt talking a little about it now.

I wanted to put it in the nameless root town, the islands up in the sky. She helped discover it and... that's where she was found after the news broke out.

[ gazes at innis's giant amphitheater there in the future... it's fine. ]

It's also the most peaceful. I like going there when I want some peace and quiet.

...That's right, I remember there was that entire quest thing, and...

[ He and Uta even messaged each other at length about it. His heart hurts, just thinking about it, so he has to take a pause.

But he'll be fine with continuing afterwards. also looks away from amphitheater ]

I don't go there that much, but it's not too terrible, I think. I don't really have a leaning towards where her body would be in the end, though. So, I won't have an objection or anything unless meteors rain from the sky and blow it all apart or something.

[ Which is ridiculous so it won't happen. ]

[ Even that seems a little too farfetched for Oriade to believe in. ]

Some people offered to help, so it won't be just us. Winter did too.

[ Far too farfetched. Ganymede's imagination truly knows no bounds...though, he perks up with the rest of what Oria says. ]

[ Mostly because Punisher kinda has the body. Anyway. ]

Though I'm sure more people would help out if asked. Most people here are kind, after all. We have a little survival group going on.
