MAC ANU ~ GANYMEDE'S MCMANSION



The everpresent afternoon sunset hangs, echoing picturesque across the glass windows apparent at each spot within the large building. In a large room full of tables and what not are heaps of various cuisine settled here or there. Seafood, pastas, drinks, the like; Mediterranean style so if nobody likes that...gomen.

Ganymede has made it clear that he prefers people to be here in order to get themselves together. Sorted, somehow. They're all acting with a sort of independence he seems disinterested in disturbing, but he wants the prospect of potential solutions to be floated along.

If someone has new information they can share, well, it is encouraged. If not, he hopes that they will at least participate in some way.

It now begins.

[Levi rubs at his arm in a self-soothing gesture as he listens to this.]

Do... [His mouth is dry. Uta's "death" has plagued him for a while now, but he's been too afraid to address it until now.] Do you really believe the article?

[ poor levi. she'd reach out and give him a hug if she knew it wouldn't make things worse for him. ]

I think the better question is if the article gives me any reason to doubt it. ...and unfortunately it doesn't.

"Dalgaard" is not a name that I've had associated with me for years. I've made sure of that.

But--!

[He immediately stops himself before he can go any further, trembling. He can't raise his voice at Uta. He can't.

After taking a deep breath, he tries again.]

But... CC Corp funds the news. W-Who's to say they didn't fabricate it? I don't know how they'd get a hold of that name, but...they've done a lot of shady and invasive things...

[ her heart goes out to levi; it really does. she'll place a hand on his shoulder to (hopefully) help him calm himself. ]

So has my family.

[ there's no real reason to hide it anymore. ]

It's why I have more reasons to believe the news than I do to doubt it. If the CC Corps were involved with it then it was to let someone know where to find me.

[Uta's the one who's more than likely dead IRL. She has way more to be upset about. Because of that, Levi feels so stupid and pathetic for being the one falling apart over it while she has her hand on him.]

Uta...

[It's obvious in his shaky voice that he wants all of this to be wrong so badly. Uta of all people doesn't deserve this. She doesn't deserve to have had a bad family. To have this happen...]

I'm sorry. [He sniffles and shakes his head.] I'm sorry...

[ oh levi... sure, she may be the one who is dead and in an extremely precarious position but it doesn't mean she thinks her struggles weigh more than anyone else's. then levi starts apologizing and she just can't stand here and watch it. ]

What are you apologizing for? [ her voice will be as calming and gentle as she can make it. and she'll get on her tip-toes, as needed, to bring his head closer to her so she can stroke his head. ] There's nothing that you've done that needs to be apologized for.

[ and if/when he looks at her, she'll be smiling warmly for him. ]

If anything—thank you for caring about me so much. It means so much to me to know that I'm this important to you.
