[Was anyone expecting snow? Well, expected or not, the party of four have nonetheless been dumped into an expanse of snow and rock as soone as Barrett puts in their exploration code, sparse evergreens dotting the landscape of white. Off in the distance is some sort of structure made of castle stone, though it looks like it might be a little bit of a walk.

[The local redhead fumbles to zip up his jacket with the cold bite of the air through the gate, letting the stop sign in his hand crunch heavily into the snow with a firm grip.]

Everyone okay? We still have everybody, right?

[Levi starts shivering the moment that frosty air hits him. He could turn off the sensitivity function, but...his immersion...so he'll suffer.]

Y-Yeah, I think everyone's here...

[They’re present! They’re also not suffering from the cold, seemingly unaffected while standing there in their robe. They’re just built different.]

I don’t think it would be possible to get lost already…

[Mr_Misteaks is very tall and very noticeable, after all.]

[Is it a Water-elemental thing?? 0koto's got his hands tucked under his robes but otherwise seems unaffected, glancing about the open tundra with only the mildest expression of appraisal and interest. He must admit, the immersive environments are rather impressive.... Not that it will mean much if the combat proves to be a dud.]

If you do, we might as well leave you behind, [He pulls up the area information, getting used to the controls in the field. Let's see, is there a map function at all...?]

Steaks, wasn't it? [He smiles towards his newfound foodie friend.] Why don't you lead the way? Tank should forge the path.

Mm. Yeah, I can do that.

[Misteaks hoists the sign with an easy motion over one shoulder, a glance towards the other demon-designed avatar shivering in his boots.]

You might feel better when we find a shelter or dungeon, right Levi? Do you want to stay with me?

[Levi nods immediately and vigorously, sticking close to Barrett for some additional warmth. Just the act of moving around helps, too.]

That castle in the distance looks like prime dungeon real estate. We may as well head that way first.

[Is Levi even going to make it that far, they wonder, but they decide to keep that thought to themself for now.]

It’s the most obvious landmark, so you’re probably right. Still, we should… be on the lookout for mobs. But if anything happens… I’m here.

[They haven’t had much opportunity to actually use their spells yet, but they’ve memorized them as best they can. Thankfully most of them are just… “heal your party”, so they can’t fuck up too badly.]

If it's really bothering you that much, [Flames dance on the edges of Matoba's fingertips as he grins at Levi,] I can try to warm you up?

[...By lighting a fire or something. Of course.]

[The rugged castle ruins off in the distance were the obvious destination, but there was a great expanse between them and plenty of monsters to pop up before then.]

We ought to see if we can get some xp before we head there, hm? Where are the encounters....?

If there's nothing here, then maybe the closer we go, the more that we might find.

[In the air above the castle walls, something glistens, moving like an iradescent snake through the waves of the cold air. Or, perhaps, less of a snake and more of a fish, gliding through the air in a small school the moment one spots the group. Around them, similarly iridescent spots dot the snow like clumps of crystal among the rock, the dancing sunlight making it look like one of them were moving. Probably because, oops they are, with pincers to match.

Sky Fish (non elemental) and Mantids (water) are here to take some snacks in the winter weather, it seems.

Barrett's wings buzz behind him as his weapon goes to the ready. Brandish is all he can do, but it will get a lot of eyes on him and off the casters.]

Watch your backs!

[Levi lets out a small yelp as Matoba conjures up some fire. He doesn't trust an offer like that one bit.]

N-No thanks!! Just give me a second to warm up, okay?!

[Because hey, the heat of battle should do some good for that, right? He tries to put his discomfort behind him as their quarry finally makes their presence known, seamlessly shifting into his Macabre Dancer form.

Utilizing his fans, he does a quick dance to apply a physical attack-up buff on himself.]

Ap Corv!

[...and yes, he's going to be yelling all of his moves like a goober.]

Are we supposed to do that....

[Hm. It feels a bit awkward to just yell your moves out, but what do they know... Maybe it's a strategy...

Still, there's not much they can do just yet, but positioning is important! They're going to put the rest of the party between the monsters and themselves, because they're not sure what aggro is like in this game just yet. In some MMOs, healing generates a lot of enmity... so better safe then sorry!]

[He chuckles back to Levi's yelp. Matoba's gaze swings to their oncoming enemies, quickly targeting them to examine their information. Ah, that one is Water element too, isn't it? He wonders whether being a Water element also will have any effect while battling it. One way to find out.]

Not like I have much of a choice, [After all, at level 1, he only has the one spell- the flames dancing at his fingertips scatter as he casts his Vak Kruz spell towards the Mantid, intently watching its HP bar to see how much it does.]

[He glances back towards "Kaino" scooting to the back of the party and nods. Best to protect the healer at all costs.]
