[ Welcome to the lovely Sieden Hotsprings.

A hot springs tucked away in a most unexpected place: the volcanic mountains of a fire Field. The idea of steeping yourself in hot water when you’re already sweating beneath your armor might not sound appealing on paper, but one dip in these healing waters will cure you of that misconception in an instant. Both online and off, you’ll find your minor aches and pains alleviated, your headaches cured and your fatigue relieved.

The springs are flanked by an inn whose proprietors eagerly insist upon trying the local delicacies: spa-boiled mantid eggs and hot sake. When eaten together, you’ll find that your worldly troubles feel, well, worlds away. Spending a night at the inn guarantees your anxieties remain at bay.

And this, in fact, is Fandaniel's first trip here. He's heard of it, certainly, and he's had it in his mind to pay a visit eventually. Why not now? And why not with Hector? And why not now, when it would seem they'll be the only two players taking up the springs? That part is merely sheer chance but Fandaniel won't turn his nose up at it.

So that will be here Hector will find him. He's already in the spring, bare of armor and clothing but the steam and occasional bubbling of the hot spring does a good job of covering that up. Having arrived earlier, he didn't think to wait up, and he's had the NPCs running the little inn in the middle of this ridiculous lava field drop off fresh towels, boiled eggs, and, most importantly, sake.

He's already sipping some, naturally, and enjoying how the hot water strips away all the tension of the long, incredibly odd week he's had.

If only he could get this kind of service in reality... ]

[ In all honesty, this is Hector's first time here, too.

The beach Area caught his attention right away, but the hot springs kind of fell to the wayside. He knows beaches. He likes beaches. It's prime beach season, and he's been thinking about the ocean, wishing he had the time to make the drive to the nearest one.

Hot springs, though? Not so much.

He doesn't really know what to do. He feels that heat and, in all honesty, gets a little apprehensive, but he's not the type to go back on his word. Like a helpless little chick, he follows the NPCs' instructions, strips down to nothing, and eventually gets his bearings and finds his way to the baths.

How, exactly, a hot bath is supposed to be nice in an environment like this is beyond him. But he supposes he'll find out.

And so in saunters Hector, towel wrapped low on his hips. Them being the only two in here means he spots Fandaniel immediately.

Towel falls into a little pile at his feet as he steps into the water and sinks in beside Fandaniel... I mean, not that close. Gotta leave some room for buildup. ]

Hey. [ Oh, the water's not as bad as he thought it'd be. More importantly—he points at the sake. He cocks a brow. ] Where'd you get that?

[ In saunters Hector and Fandaniel enjoys watching him do exactly that. He makes no secret of keeping his eyes on him as he walks in, in naught else but a loose towel, and then discarding that to join him in the steamy warm water. ]

From here. They serve it alongside their little snacks.

[ He turns away once Hector is settled, nodding towards the larger ceramic pitcher-like container it's being held in. Next to it, another equally ceramic cup is included just for company. Fandaniel sets his own cup aside and picks up the empty one as well as the pitcher. The cup, he passes over, but not the pitcher. ]

Allow me?

[ He asks, head tilted and ceramic pitcher held up, suggesting he means to pour Hector's drink for him. ]

[ Oh. He missed that.

Hector dutifully takes the little cup, turning it over in his hand to inspect it. How does he feel gayer holding this tiny thing? ]

It's so small. [ There's amusement in his voice at the observation, never having seen a proper sake cup before.

Fandaniel's question draws his attention back up, though, and pulls him from his amused swirl of thoughts. ]

Oh, sure.

[ He grins, holds out his cup, lets Fandaniel do his thing. ]

To be honest, I wasn't expecting this.

[ He's getting wined and dined first. Maybe he won't mind being this guy's bitch. ]

[ Hector, please, it's just a sake cup. Have some culture. If Fandaniel knew what he was thinking while looking at the cup, he'd be laughing himself straight down into the water, but, thankfully, he doesn't know and so he simply and dutifully pours out the sake for Hector, right into his little gay cup. ]

It's just how it's traditionally served. You might get a slightly taller glass outside of somewhere as old-fashioned as this but not by much.

[ His arm comes down back to where it was a moment ago, his cup primed and ready to be filled.

But he nods at Fandaniel's neglected cup. ]

What about you? I'd rather you drink with me.

Hm?

[ Fandaniel turns his gaze to his own cup, sitting on the serving dish where the rest had been set before. Along with the sake and the cups are those already peeled hard-boiled eggs. Mantid eggs, admittedly, but they honestly don't taste much different from normal eggs... ]

Here, why don't I move this over so we can both reach it?

[ And he'll do just that, first refilling Hector's cup, then sliding the dish over on his other side into his free hand. He'll find a spot just behind where they're sitting but between them, too, to balance it instead. There, all better, and now he can fill his own cup, too.

[ Hector patiently waits for Fandaniel to move things around, refrains from throwing back his second cup. He watches him move, occasionally stealing glances at Fandaniel's body, whatever isn't obscured by steam and water. He's so skinny.

And he really doesn't know any better. So when he sees Fandaniel's done pouring himself his drink, he grins again, lifts his cup. ]

I gotta say, this isn't exactly how I thought things were going to go today. [ He brings his cup to his lips, but doesn't drink yet. ] But I can't say I hate it.

At Fandaniel's note, Hector laughs. ]

Normally? Definitely not. Tokyo has some onsens but you would have to drive out into the country or the mounts to find one that serves drinks and food. That could get pricy, so, this is much more of a vacation.

[ Oh, this, he likes. As Fandaniel comes right up beside him, Hector flashes him a grin, leans into him a bit. He sits back to stretch his arm around him, along the edge of the pool.
