Σ Turbulent Distrusting Ice Wall
Who: Fidchell the Prophet and two fateful parties.
What: A prophecy foretold.
When: 11/21, Night
Where: The city formerly known as Lumina Cloth.
Warnings: Mentions of suicidal ideation, violence.

[ Something appears to be afoot in the night-shrouded city of lights, Lumina Cloth. Ever since the fall of Innis and Magus, it has begun to grow colder, and colder, and colder. NPCs begin to glitch in and out of existence as the days crawl along until one day, they are no more, and it begins to snow.
Throughout this entire ordeal, a strange yet familiar figure dressed gaudily in blue and feathery robes can be witnessed watching from a distance.
Everything ices over, the lights flickering out one by one, plunging the entire city into darkness... until... until?
Only after the city has been buried in snow and covered in ice do the lights all snap back on and those who enter the Root Town will discover a horrific sight: Telophoroi Tower has risen high over the frozen landscape at the center of the city, overtaking the rest of the buildings. It is far larger and much more dangerous-looking than before, with more metal, more spikes, and an ominous mist clinging to it from all angles.
There is only one person who could possibly be waiting here.
Approaching the tower will plunge the players into the mist.
Nearly all will find themselves turned around but a few, those lucky few, will find themselves entering the dark, empty halls of the guild @ home once known as Telophoroi. Steps echo, emptiness reigns, no sign of even Cultist Grunty anymore. Those stairs are new, though, and they wind up and up and up towards the very tip-top of the tower.
Do you dare to climb them...? ]

[ Yael seems to have no idea what Fai is talking about, but a chuckle rumbles through him and Fai will feel it, arms wrapped around him as tight as they are, but Yael has to move eventually. He picks both mugs up and squirms, turning around in Fai's arms to face him instead.
Even now, no kiss is forthcoming, only coffee. Weird. He doesn't seem to be in a bad mood and yet...? ]
And I didn't really lose that last time. I threw the match because I wanted him to lose out on whatever GP he bet on the fight.
[ That much he'll grin about. He sounds happier already thinking of Fandaniel being upset over something stupid. ]

[ While his happiness over something stupid and petty is normal, he... feels off. Where's his kiss? Maybe he's spoiled by physical affection, but it's strange that the mugs of coffee are prioritized over him. It's an almost imperceptible difference only noticeable due to his expectations being thrown. Yael's body feels just as warm and solid as it always has in his arms but...
He can't place it. Yael is Yael and he's the same as always, right?
Being unable to pinpoint it is off-putting enough that he pulls his away wordlessly and goes to the breakfast table, pulling out a chair to sit down. Yael seems to be in a good mood, but if that's the case, then why...?
He doesn't look at Yael as he pillows his face in his hands. ]

[ Yael is forever a huge jackass, yep, that's it. Totally in-character, full points, all gold stars. Ahem, anyway. What was that... just then? Why did Yael sound so weird after he pulled away, turned towards the table?
When Fai sits, there's a pause from Yael before he joins him there, taking the other seat across from him and eyeing the beanpole of a man with concern. ]
What's eating you up? Sleep poorly or something?
no subject
But he was making it up... wasn't he? Yael didn't react, after all.
...Hm.
It feels like too many coincidences all at once for him to feel like he is. With the weird smell earlier, something Yael also didn't react to, he can't help but feel like something is wrong.
The fact that Yael's words and movements are all off in some way only cements his worry. ]
You're acting strange. [ Why can't he put his finger on it? Is it because it's a bunch of little things all adding up? ] Why did your voice sound like that just now?
no subject
[ Having begun to call it out, the illusion begins to unravel just a bit more. That stench returns and Fai feels the sensation of something wet and warm on his skin, as though he's been plunged into warm water despite sitting here, at a table, talking with Yael. ]
Fai, I have no idea what you're talking about. My voice didn't do anything different. You sure you're feeling okay?
no subject
The cogs in his brain begin to churn and being called “Fai” kicks his brain into overdrive. ]
No, I’m not. You… who are you? Sheza would never call me Fai, and he’d be a lot more gruff. [ He shakes his head. ] You aren’t him.
[ He looks at his hands again, bone dry despite feeling like they’ve been plunged into water. ]
What is this? What’s going on?

[ Fidchell should have switched it up, made Fai's dream of a perfect life with someone far more comprehendible to act as, but then it would not have been that perfect life, no?
Oh well. That's the end of that.
Fai finds himself viciously ejected from the pod, ripping him so suddenly from the soft, gentle world that had been created for him. He's covered in the ooze from the pod, now rapidly growing cold now that it's outside in the arena, and Fidchell hovers, idly shuffling his cards.
Fai will notice a debuff now that he's freed himself: Face Your Fate (Alone). Truly, he is alone out here, facing Fidchell without anyone else at his side. It gives him a massive damage down debuff. ]
Somehow I am not surprised that you fought your way out first. What a pity.
I could have kept you safe and happy there...
no subject
The debuff catches his eye and… hm. This isn’t good. He looks around at the other pods for any kind of opening, anyway to get the others out before his gaze settles on Fandaniel. He won’t move to release anyone yet in favor of seeing what happens. Maybe they’ll get out on their own. ]
Well… I’ve always been stubborn, haven’t I? I’d rather face the truth instead of living in an idealized place like that anyway. [ He smiles a little. ] It’s too bad I made that decision a couple of weeks ago. It makes your job harder, doesn’t it?
[ Before, he probably would have been happier in a world like that. But the hardships mean something to him, so he’ll fight for them. ]
